I started out with Trumper's soft rose shaving cream, and I decided to switch to a hard soap with a wooden bowl. The limes shave soap smells wonderful, a little goes a long way, and I got a very close, comfortable shave. I plan on keeping the bowl & order soap refills after this one gets depleted.

The only thing I miss is the clinking sound I used to hear when my dad shaved. The wooden bowl for the soap is only slightly larger than the soap, so there's no way for the shaving brush to hit the side of the bowl.

As I have learned since I switched to wet shaving, you don't need 3, 4, 5, or 6 blades to get a good shave. I use one double-sided blade (Merkur) on my Merkur Futur razor. I swap it out once a week. And while Trumper shaving cream looks expensive, it really isn't. After purchasing the bowl, refills are only $19. I expect that the soap will last me at least 8 months of daily shaving.

My husband loves this soap. The lime scent is fresh but not flowery, and is very mild. The soap is really nice. The wooden bowl lasted us about 10 years (in a heavily wet environment, the bathroom) before it developed a crack, and I bought my husband a new bowl. My husband also likes that the bowl has a lid, and used it frequently for travel, secured with elastic bands (as opposed to a shaving mug). You can also get refills for the bowl.

I can not review this item because I never got I. It has been over a month,the company said it was out of stock even though the posting said nothinb of the sort.,so I still wait
