I'm fascinated by leadership, values, ethics, strategy, communication and organisational alignment, along with management innovation and chaos theory. As a result of that, my career isn't easily labelled.
Over the last three decades, I have been a director, manager, consultant, strategist, academic, communicator, administrator, lawyer, student, bar person, general hand and gofer. Just as broad is the variety of organisations I have worked with and for, including multinational companies, NFP, NGO and community organisations, government organisations, SME, peak professional organisations and membership bodies, and even self-employed.
The key theme of this work is helping people achieve their goals and meet the challenges they are passionate about. As a result, I have worked with people and leaders from many countries and cultures who have taught me the value of designing tailored solutions and the importance of leadership communication as a foundation for groups, organisations and businesses.
I have been fortunate to work with, alongside and for many leaders, including: Business leaders, Chairs, CEO and MD; Community leaders including recipients of international and national honours; Academic and education leaders; Sports and community organisation leaders; Leaders within professions and industries; Indigenous, Aboriginal and human rights leaders; and Political leaders
I worked with Michelle Delebet to establish Corporate Growing Pains as a vehicle for our consultancy, speaking, workshop and blogging work, while we have also been pursuing other commercial interests. I am an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
I am an Australian who also loves reading, sport (esp Essendon, West Adelaide and the Boston Celtics and RedSox), music and travelling to Penang Island in Malaysia to stay at the Rasa Sayang Hotel on Batu Feringgi Beach.
