I bought it at the Nevada Historical Society bookstore in Reno,
By Patroo "patroo" (the High Desert) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Geologic and Natural History Tours in the Reno Area: Expanded Edition (Special Publication 19) (Spiral-bound)
As we already had the same series of guides for Hwys 50 and 93, I knew this was a must-have, and I was not disappointed.Great binding, great paper, and terrific information - the only drawback was the limitations of the geographic area. I hope that one is planned for the Black Rock Desert, and more as we could have used similar guides for more of the state. Look up self-sorted stone stripes in this book - I bet you never knew these features had a name, or how they occurred. I intend to collect more of these guides as I find them.

Lots of interesting history & pictures,
This review is from: Geologic and Natural History Tours in the Reno Area: Expanded Edition (Special Publication 19) (Spiral-bound)
I have lived in the Reno/Tahoe area for over 30 years. I found this book on a coffee table and could hardly put it down. I learned fascinating things about the area, so the book is fun to read even if you do not take the tours. The are 4 trips, each with interval miles(from last described feature to the next) and total miles from start. Numerous pictures and stories about the development in the area make it both easy to find the locations and informative. A great gift to yourself or others!
