A "must read" for NYC geology......,

Although the Geology of New York City & Environs by Chris Schuberth,was first published in 1968, before the modern day theories of plate tectonics were firmly established, I consider this a "must read" for anyone wanting a clear understanding of the wide variety of geology that presents itself in the New York City area. Rock outcrops that are no longer available to visit are described in detail. Several suggested field trips are described. Any serious student of "Big Apple" geology should have a copy on their desk.
