This review is from: Geology of San Diego County: Legacy of the Land (Paperback)
This book is a superb overview of local geology and is a good resource for synoptic references when doing technical reports. The writers did a good thing! Larry Newcomb, REHS 3888, Land Use Consultant

Young people ask you: where's the gold?,
By R. Bagula "Roger L. Bagula" (Lakeside, Ca United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Geology of San Diego County: Legacy of the Land (Paperback)
I've actually had that question asked and also what does the gold look like.
Rise and Fall of San Diego: 150 Million Years of History Recorded in Sedimentary Rocks never answers that question, but is a better geology guide than this book. This book give the reference: Ellsbery,H. 1972,Mines of Julian, Los Angeles : La Siesta Press; and some short history. To really get an idea of the local San Diego geology I think you should read both this book and "Rise and Fall". |
