Geomag provides hours of fun for my son. We have purchased several different types of Geomag sets already. This is the first one I bought that has the plastic disks with them. My son likes the disks, but feels there are way to many of them in this set, and too few rods. We are always coming up short on the rods - we have plenty of the silver balls and now have an ample supply of the plastic disks. My suggestion to Geomag would be to include more rods in their sets. Geomag's quality is excellent - very durable. Though if you have kids that tend to put things in their mouth, I wouldn't buy this toy. Also, watch that your dog doesn't chew on the toys.

you do get a briefcase, and on the box the description of 350 pieces, but most of the 350 is the plastic geometric shapes and rods, it was fun for what it was, there wasn't enough pieces to make more than 4 shapes at the same time as the box leads you to believe. maybe 2 persons has enough pieces to create the geoshapes.

I work for Castle Science and Tech Center, a children's museum in Atwater, CA. ([...]) We use Geomags as part of a hands-on nanotechnology exhibit developed by the University of California, Merced. Kids can make models of carbon nanotubes and buckyballs with the geomags. They also create many other configurations, learning more about the properties and characteristics of magnetism as they build. The exhibit is very popular with our young visitors.
