I bought this toy for my 2.5 y.o. son. I know, this toy is not for kids under 3 y.o., but my son doesn't have a tendency to put things in his mouth, so I've decided that he should be fine. I do watch him very closely when he plays with it, though. I wasn't sure if the little magnets come off, but they do. We can play with this toy for a long, long time building different shapes. My son loves this toy! And it's entertaining enough for me. I do not recommend getting this, if your child likes putting things in his mouth, as everything comes apart, including the small magnetic balls. Those can be really dangerous if swallowed.

All three of my grandkids (ages 3,7 and 10) enjoy this toy...so happy I got it for them as a gift.
Each one uses it in age appropriate ways and feels good about their finished project.

I would love to give a lot of details about this toy, but really you just have to play with it to understand.

How good is it? After buying this, I have purchased about 10 times more of them to be able to build even more interesting stuff.

The panels are useful because they make any structure sturdier, but they are not mandatory. Actually, without them you have to think a bit more to make your structures stronger. All the parts are durable enough to last forever.

I am 62 and my granddaughter is 5. Geomag is made for both of us and everyone in between.

Who could ask for more?
