Well-crafted examples of lyrical prose that evokes images as effective as they are unexpected,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Geometry of Loneliness (Paperback)
Academician, writer, literary editor, and an award winning poet, Lee Passarella is a master of the prose poem and able to create word images that impact on both the imagination and the emotions of his reader. Enthusiastically recommended reading for anyone who appreciates well-crafted examples of lyrical prose that evokes images as effective as they are unexpected, "The Geometry Of Loneliness" will prove to be a very rewarding read. 'Auto-da-fe': Cruel as the grave/you said of jealousy/that night you were even crueler,/when I came to you still/in the winding sheet. And you,/bringing resurrection like a trial,/like the fireball Jesus rides on/in the Bruenwald Resurrection:/you ask more of the faithful/than any god would ask,/a savior/like an inquisition, a Christ of napalm,/killing villages to save them,/and I your converted jew,/your reclaimed good.
