Merely stunning release! I recomend it to every real amateurs of organ music especially for those who indeed interested in baroque repertoire. Teeuwsen's interpretation of Boehm's preludes is very expressive and impressive. And of course everybody should hear his play of Prelude, Fugue and Postlude in g -- the real hit of this recording!

An old german master,

A good introduction to an old master of the North Germany school. He is said to have influenced J.S.Bach's works for organ: if you listen to the last track (Prelude, Fugue and Postlude in G minor), you could discover some hints of the well-known Toccata & Fugue BWV 565. Good the Teeuwsen's performance and satisfactory the recorded sound.

I love this cd. I have been a fan of N. German organ music for about 42 years and have a large collection on 33s. I don't play them anymore.I have a much smaller collection on CDs and this is one of the best. Buy it, it is great, and inexpensive to boot. |
