5.0 out of 5 stars Touching.......
This movie was a touching portrayal of a simple man's life, sort of like Forrest Gump's life. David Morse gives a wonderful performance as George B, a sensitive, caring individual, who would stop at nothing to trust everyone and be happy with just good friends. He comes into some "luck" with money and a house, but it is soon gone, to what degree I will leave for...

3.0 out of 5 stars LONESOME GEORGE
David Morse's affecting performance is the main reason to view GEORGE B. George is a lovable sap, who always has a lot of luck on his birthday. 3.0 out of 5 stars LONESOME GEORGE, November 24, 2004
This review is from: George B. (DVD)
David Morse's affecting performance is the main reason to view GEORGE B. George is a lovable sap, who always has a lot of luck on his birthday. This time around he wins some cash in Reno and returns and hooks up with a department store clerk, leisurely performed by Nina Siemaszko. Being the nice guy he is, George doesn't realize she's just out for the money he's won, and when he starts his own cleaning business, she is after that money too. Even though his "friends" warn him, George decides to marry the girl.
The movie is a leisurely character study, and Morse puts his heart into the role. Siemaszko is effectively callous and buoyant, and Grace Zabriskie (Twin Peaks) shrills her way through the thankless role of Nina's opportunistic mother. Brad Garrett in his pre EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND role has a small role as a blustery security guard.
GEORGE B doesn't really have a lot going on, and in the end, it's leisurely style becomes tedious and the ending is ultimately dry and uneventful. Worthwhile for Morse.

This movie was a touching portrayal of a simple man's life, sort of like Forrest Gump's life. David Morse gives a wonderful performance as George B, a sensitive, caring individual, who would stop at nothing to trust everyone and be happy with just good friends. He comes into some "luck" with money and a house, but it is soon gone, to what degree I will leave for you to find out! He does have some good people he can call friends, but alas, he gets jilted by the woman he loves and "thinks" she loves him. But don't sell George short, he does stand up for what he believes, and truly tries to do good by people!

If you are a David Morse fan, I truly recommend this for your collection. You fall in love with his character!

I tried to enjoy this movie because its premise looked cute and sweet. The truth is that it couldnt really get into it. It's too slow in certain parts, even for an indie film. So good acting in a boring movie.
