I Actually Read the Book,
By fingerscrossed (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
Let's just say the previous reviewer couldn't have "picked it up at a thrift store" and actually read the book since it has only been in circulation for a month. But where does this sort of blind and unreasoning hatred we always see on the far right come from, if not from the devil? The book is basically a plea for the poor, in a society driven mad with a kind of greedy, post9-11 complacency. Many Americans may not want to read it, which could be reason enough to say that they should. I found that it contained a very cogent and well-reasoned argument. More than that, it was positively bone-chilling. Better written and more believable than the 'Left Behind' series, which may not be saying much. Do I now think that George Bush is the Antichrist? Let me put it this way - if Bush wins the next election, I'll be staying with cousins in Timmins, Ontario, Canada.

An Interesting Synopsis,
This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
Is George Bush The Antichrist?, by R. Stephen Hanchett is a fairly well written synopsis on the possibility of Bush being the final antichrist. There are a few grammatical errors here and there, but you are seeing that more frequently in books today as the rush to print deems it so.He presents an intelligent argument to make his case. Siting the fact that Bush is the only world leader whose name comes out to be 666 in Hebrew numerology, to prophecies of Nostradamus, to The Book of Revelations. The one thing I did not like about the book was the hokie pictures of President Bush, it was kind of like bathroom humor, but you can sense the authors sincerity to get his message across so I overlooked that. The one thing I thought for sure that this book would also address is, "Who is the False Prophet spoken of in end times?" He makes a brief reference to Billy Graham and Pat Robertson, but that's about it on that subject. I cannot say I agree George Bush is the Antichrist, but I also cannot say he is not. This book makes an excellent case for it, and certainly has set me to thinking upon it.

Very Good Book-Worth Reading,
By
This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
Is George W. Bush the antichrist? That is an intriguing question, and one that cannot be answered by anyone other than God. However, the author does present a good strong argument for his thesis. He provides sources for all information so that you can do your own investigation and come up with your own conclusions. For example, using Ancient Hebrew, two forms of Numerology and ASCII codes to determine that Bush's number is 666. I used these systems to figure out both my wife's numbers and my own. Let's just say that I did not come up with similar numbers in each form, so it seems pretty scary that Bush would turn up all sixes. It might just be a coincidence or it could turn out to be something far worse. After reading the book it is hard not to think that Bush may be the Antichrist. If he is not then he is indeed a very evil person, and it is hard to consider him a Christian. My only regret is that more people will not be able to read this book and come to their own conclusions. It is nearly impossible to find this book in mainstream bookstores, and unfortunately the people who most need to read it won't have access to the book.

A well researched and interesting little book.,
By Nightwatchdog "Charlie" (Niagara Falls NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
First let me say that I'm an agnostic, and the last thing I believe in is things like Christs or Antichrists....my philosophy of life has no use for such things. But I usually find stuff like this interesting and amusing, and here Mr. Hanchett's book delivers much satisfaction in both areas. Methodical and well reasoned is the text, his writing style is only fair but competent, and his conclusions are reasonable for the mountain of evidence provided, ( if you go in for this sort of thing that is... ). I was almost believing the deadly serious argument the author was providing, it was reasonable enough that if any other topic had been argued so well that the world would have hailed the author as a genius.Obvisously, this is a work of passion and hard research, and if your open to such ideas as "antichrists" in general then I'm sure you will find this a well organized and reasoned little tome. And if your interested in some...well, "interesting" documented and verifiable but weird little secrets about our rather disapointing "commander and cheif", you will find this book of some interest as well. As both "political satire" and a well reasoned and fact filled argument, this book just works well, ocasionally dry in the details but more reasonable than most books of this nature. If you find this sort of thing interesting, or if you have a rather low opinion of our President, ( I must admit my opinion of the man has greatly dimished in the past few years, no doubt it was a factor in buying this book in the first place, ), you too stand a good chance of enjoying this book as I have.

Not a political research source,

This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
1. I am an unapologetic Bush hater. My personal book shelf contains over 20 titles disparaging Bush and Company.2. This is by far the worst. Hanchett attempts to use every argument from Numerology to Nostradamus to support his position, but it starts with the premise that Christian theology supposes both the literal existance of God, in the Old Testament sense, and the inevitability of the Antichrist. The presentation is way too historical and overtly lacking in specific reference to George W. Bush. There is absolutley no new information presented and the research is marginal, at best. Citing as "respected" www.capitolhillblues.com and a gratitous reference to Paul Wellstone's death as "mysterious" does nothing for the author's credibility and the only truly memorable quote from the book (atributed to Benito Mussolini) turns out to be a fraud. This coupled with extremely poor proof reading make this book of very marginal value to the serious Bush Basher and generally hard to read. 3. It only got the second star for the title :-)

Ridiculous Premise,
By JZ (NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
This book covers a premise which is totally ridiculous, which is that somehow George Bush is the "antichrist". The antichrist, clever as a serpent, with occult powers and knowledge, does not seem at all to be present in the person of George Bush. This is an weird attempt to smear a decent man with convoluted logic and reasoning, and basically twisted thinking. Not worth reading, unless you like comics.

Hanchett is a 'tard.,
This review is from: Is George Bush the Antichrist? (Paperback)
I'm the first to write a review for this... imagine that! Why am I not surprised? The only positive thing I can say about this book is that the title made me laugh, that and it made good kindling in my fireplace. I picked it up at a thrift store for curiosity's sake, but I didn't want to resell it and let others know that I owned such a piece of s***. I'm not even going to say what the author did wrong. Hopefully he won't learn from his mistakes and the rest of his career will get flushed down society's toilet.
