griddle and grill away with george,
By
This review is from: George Foreman GF20G Combo Grill/Griddle, Silver (Kitchen)
I am a george foreman appliance junkie, so when I discovered the new grill/griddle I did a price search, found the best price at Amazon and had it delivered. I LOVE this thing, it works super and is like having two separate appliances but with the convenience of having them together in one simple unit.
I found that I can fix sausage or smokey links on the grill at the same time I am making french toast on the griddle. With a bit of creative arrangement, I am able to get six pieces of french toast on the griddle and a whole package of smokey links or a lb of pattie sausage all the the same time. It was such a luxury to fix breakfast for three people and be able to sit down at the same time with the breakfast cooking all complete. Normally I am jumping up and down, making more sauasage or french toast during the meal, so this is a true luxury for me. The grill/griddle comes with two separate controls, so you can have one side on high, and the other side on low or even off if you want to. If you are familiar at all with any of the George products, then you know the basics of how the grill works..preheat..spray with olive oil or similar product and then do your grilling. Now with the griddle, you simply preheat, spray and pour your pancakes or fry your eggs. With a bit of jockying around, you will learn your grilling and griddle times and be able to get both sides prepared and finished at the same time. The only way I prepare hamgurgs is on the George grill, so now while the hamburgs are grilling, I can take the buns, open them and grill them..just like in a restaurant. I am 100 percent happy with the grill however if I were to list any negative things on the product, the only ones I could list would be. 1. the grill is very heavy and takes a lot of room on your counter. 2. With both sides turned on high, it pulls a low of power so make sure you have other power pulling appliances turned off or you will pop a fuse or circuit breaker. This GEORGE is a keeper..and a excellent gift for anyone that likes to fix healthy foods.

Lean Mean Grilling Machine!,

Do you want to reduce the fat content in your diet, without sacrificing the taste of the food you are eating?
My husband received this grill as a gift for his birthday - and we now use it nearly every day. It's just so handy - and versatile - you can grill just about anything! It's great having the press grill on one side, and the plate grill on the other. You can make sausages on one side, and eggs on the other - or use your imagination to come up with other combinations - or, just use one side of the grill! A handy container catches all the excess oil which cooks out of your food, reducing your fat intake. We now grill foods we never used to. Don't want a plain bologna and cheese sandwich for lunch? Throw it under the grill for a few minutes - and taste the difference! The best features about this grill, are as follows: * Watch the grease and oil from your food run off! It's the healthy way to grill. * Non-stick surface - It's unbelievably easy to clean. * You can turn on one side of the grill, without turning on the other. No need to waste electricity! * Easy to lift handle - ergonomic design. * Pancakes & Hamburgers are a dream to flip as there are no frypan sides to contend with. * Attractive design - silver and black. * The food just tastes so good! This grill is quite large, so make sure you have the bench space to spare. Infact, we decided we liked the grill so much, that we have it on the bench permanently - which meant some reshuffling of other kitchen items. We use this now more than the oven - it's a member of the family which we couldn't do without. If you love grilling foods, and want to rid some of the oil in your diet, and lower your cholestoral without taking away the taste of the food you are eating - the George Forman Combo Grill/Griddle is the way to go. Get grilling!

My fiance and I received this as a shower gift last week and the G2 made its debut this past weekend. It has exceeded all expectations. Cooked a full hot breakfast in the morning and by noon I was flipping patty melts. Cleanup was not too bad. Just let it cool off and wiped it with some paper towels and soapy water. I highly suggest that every human run out and buy this item. This weekend the G2 will be travelling to the football game to be introduced to some tailgating.

Nice Grill - Messy Cleanup!,
By
This review is from: George Foreman GF20G Combo Grill/Griddle, Silver (Kitchen)
The grill and the griddle side cook evenly and perfectly every time, however cleanup is my biggest complaint! Who had the idea there should be raised ridges at the end of the grill - what is the point of it on this grill, it is not slanted like all the other grills?? All it does it trap food and make it difficult to clean - the same goes for the griddle - all the mess on the griddle has to be swept into the grill side - so even if you did not use the grill you are cleaning that! And after how many types of grills that have been sold why hasn't someone had the idea to attach the stupid drip tray to the grill? This is another product that is not worth the headache to clean! I just stick the whole thing in the sink and spray it off even though you are not suppose too - that is how much of a pain the thing is too clean!

Grabbed this at wallmart for $38.00- Had been looking at all the GF grills, read all the reviews and etc for all of them and was actualy going to buy a different model when I just happened to be at wallmart when the guy was putting only 2 of these on the shelf. For $38 I quickly snatched one up and let others fight over the remaining one.
To the folks that said this heated up slow or did not get hot enough, I suspect got 'faulty' grills. Mine is sturdy, it heats up very quickly and certainly gets more then hot enough for anything. Both sides have seperate temp controls that are very easy to use and get used to and easily maintain any temp. You name it and I have cooked it. I am really very amazed as since getting the GF COMBO, I have not had to use anything else in the kitchen. EVERYTHING is now done on the GF. The size is excellent, allowing for something simple, or a large, multidish meal. It is almost like a mini 'cook station' all in one. The grease/drip tray is certainly large enough. More then enough. I've had so much stuff on that grill with grease pouring out and never have come close to it spilling over. The only thing I have ever had a problem cooking, which I found an easy solution to...is eggs. First time, I beat the eggs in a glass and when I put them on the grill, a portion ran down and into the drip tray. I solved that by giving the grill and extra 30 seconds to get a bit warmer and used a simple spatula just in case, but so far, when I pour the ggs on there now, the heat gets to the eggs before they can go anywhere. I have NEVER so much as used a spray or anything when cooking and am amazed at how NOTHING STICKS. The speed of cooking is amazing. Crisp bacon and I mean PERFECT bacon and sausage, french toast, eggs, bagels, bowl of heated syrup and hasbrowns for 3 ( enough for 5 <lol>) in less then 10 minutes and that it not an exaggeration. The cleaning is rather simple. Again, I have never used any kind of spray, nothing sticks and it wipes clean realtively easily. I cut a sponge to the right size and it works perfect. Steaks, fish, chicken, veggies, cook fast and perfectly. Best sandwiches, super quick..barely any clean up...In fact, most is easy to clean... I have heard folks talk about the size. Yes, it is big, but not that big. In fact, for as much as this baby will do, I'd say it does ALOT for it's size. You could get two seperate appliances, but that is not the purpose for this particular model. It is meant to be an 'all in one cooking station' and that is exactly what it is. It looks very nice...everybody that see's it asks about it....I easily made the counterspace as it is the only thing I use now, other then the microwave occassionaly. I threw a frozen pizza on the griddle just for the heck of it, not expecting it to cook right and it cooked GREAT...I have actually been trying to find things it WONT cook well and easy and am not having much luck...even my frozen fish sticks and chicken tenders I threw on the griddle cooked to a nice cripsy golden brown in a heartbeat and 15 seconds to give the griddle a quick wipe with a paper towel.....I have even grilled fruit...thick steaks and chops, bone in and bone out..london broil and medium sized roasts....I just cannot seem to ruin anything with this unit. So for those that complain about the size, I can only laugh. Considering how much this baby can do and how fast and how well everything comes out, it takes the places of most every other appliance you use.....I mean, flip the griddle onto halfway between low and medium and 10 bagels are crisp in a zap..faster then a toaster!!..Once you use the GF, you will rarely use oven, toaster, stove, microwave...and ALOT less pots and pans. Frankly, if this baby was $100 or more I would think it is well worth it and I got mine for $38 and see them at other places in the $50 range and all I can say is BUY ONE! And NO, I do not work for GF<lol> I am simply somebody that has had this for a few months now and it just gets better everyday with what I find this grill can do......A definate 5 star in my opinion and the low price is unbelievable. I MUST have for any kitchen....Whether a lazy cook or gourmet, the GF is simply awesome.

YOU HAVE TO GET THIS ONE!!!,
This review is from: George Foreman GF20G Combo Grill/Griddle, Silver (Kitchen)
My husband and I got this as a gift for Christmas and let me tell you , the days of microwave hotdogs and mac and cheese are over! This is wonderfull. bye bye cereal too.. We cook every meal on it. It's easy to clean too, just wipe it down with a cold wet rag after you are done cooking and it cools just a bit. It does get ALL the grease out of the food too. I did steak kabobs last night with pineapple, peppers, onion and steak, it did wonderful on this grill. Breakfast is a sinch you can make everyones favorite all at once. There are 5 of us and we all like different things . You can do it all on this grill/griddle. It is rather large , but we have a pint size kitchen I just did some rearranging on my limited counter space.. I need that thing handy ! no more pots and pans... It does grilled veggies and fish wonderfully too! Just spray it with some pam and off you go. It heats up FAST! It is worth it if you want a grill/griddle that works good and feeds alot at once.

This grill/griddle is so much better than my previous grill. I love the dual temperature controls. It's much more convenient that having all of the individual plates...where do you put the hot "used" plate when you want to use another one right away?? This one is "all in one" and wonderful!

Great idea, but impractical for little counter space,
By
This review is from: George Foreman GF20G Combo Grill/Griddle, Silver (Kitchen)
This grill/griddle combo is a great idea but does not fit on our counter. I use the grill often, but have to put it on my kitchen table to use it because is so wide. This monster applicance takes up more space than the microwave. We are going to buy a smaller grill and put this one in the attic until we have more space for it. I have also found that the grease does not drain from the grill like a normal George Foreman because it is not as tilted. I think this is because the skillet needs to be level and the grill and skillet are all in one piece.
