4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it is supposed to do.
This is my third Foreman grill. The non-stick coating on the previous two eventually wore out, probably because I was using marinades that adhered to strongly. If you just want to grill burgers and chops, this will do it. The only drawback in this inexpensive model is that the plates are not submersible.

After I bought this for my mother, I bought it for myself. We have a larger one, but it is so big to get out just for my husband and me. This is a great little grill for just one or two people for a one or two hamburgers, one pork chop or a steak. I love it, & I know my mother will. She's getting it as part of her birthday present.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cooking on a Grille, September 9, 2007

For us diet conscious people it's fantastic. Grilled effect on meat very attractive. Fat caught in container provided. You can pinpoint doneness very easily and get it exactly the way you want it. Wiping immediately with paper towel very important for easy cleaning later. What more can I say. It's five star all the way.

I was amazed by the performace of this little machine. Cooks hamburgers, steaks, fish patties, pork, evenly and fast. Best of all is the price. I have yet to try other meats and vegetables. I recommend this to anyone short on time while in the kitchen. Thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, November 13, 2007

This grill works very well for both meat and vegetables. The hinge allows it to adjust properly to fit the thickness of the item being grilled, and the enclosed drip catcher catches most of the juices so as to keep the counter somewhat tidy. It is not well attached, so it can move, and the lid sometimes falls down when you are trying to lift it -- a bit alarming when it is hot.

I am puzzled by the description that trumpets the 36" of grilling surface, as if this would make a large grill. In reality, "36 inches of grill surface" means that each grilling surface is 6" square. That is fairly compact and more suitable for a small amount of grilling.

That being said, this is a good grill for moderate needs and a low price.

This thing is great! No temperature control, just plug it in, heat it up, throw a piece of meat in it! SO easy! Most things take 4 minutes. Fantastic!

It is hard to clean- I'd pop for the next model up, who's grill plates come out for soap and water. But this one has been a good starter model. I find a paper towel to get off the big chunks, lemon juice- the cheap half fake kind- is an excellent degreaser to clean the plates. It comes with special Teflon safe scrubbies but what do you do when they've all gone?
Still, I think I'll run this one into the ground first... The drip tray goes in the dish washer.

The cleaning is my only complaint- but since 90% of singles in America use this to cook dinner every night and get by it must not be that hard. I've had this for six months and the lemon juice must do the trick.

I'm a single guy who doesn't mind cooking, but who is less than enthusiastic about cleaning. Previously, I had a Hamiliton Beach grill with removable plates. I was sold on the idea of just chucking the plates into the dishwasher - what I didn't realize is that the space behind the plates containing the heating coil gets dirty as well, and cleaning all those nooks and crannies was a pain.

So I got the GR11wsp3 and life is simple again. When the burger is finished, I immediately wipe down the cooking surfaces with wet silicon sponges, toss the drip pan into the sink, crack open a six pack and get on with life. Next day when I'm ready to do last night's dishes (I did say I was a single guy, didn't I?) I use the hot soapy dishwater to sponge down the exterior surfaces of the grill. Total cleaning time ~ 45 seconds.

The Champ seems to get much hotter much sooner than the removable plates model - so much so that the suggested cooking times in the owners manual seem to be off. The manual recommends a cooking time of 8 minutes for a 4 oz medium well done burger. I use 6oz patties, cook them for 5 minutes, then open the top, and then place cheese on burger for 1 min, and end with a nicely done burger - no pink, but juicy.

I whole heartedly recommend the George Foreman Grill. I love mine so much that this past Christmas I gave several away to relatives. It makes cooking lunch/dinner so simple and quick as well as draining off the unnecessary grease.

This is a great product for a single person. Salmon, chicken, pork chops, hamburgers are simple to cook. The only disappointment is that hot dogs and brats want to slide off and take a little persuading to stay in the unit. The food cooks without drying out and the grease catcher does a great job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Little Grill, June 9, 2008
This review is from: George Foreman GR11WSP3 Champ 36-Square-Inch Nonstick Electric Grill (Kitchen)
The grill was pretty easy to use, at first I was a little confused with the light turning on and off... The grill cooks pretty well and good for small portions. Like many people said, it's good for individuals and not for big families.
