"God and George Foreman love the working Woman--Yeah!",
By
This review is from: George Foreman GR30CB XXL Grill (Kitchen)
This summer, my mother, who has for the last 19-years lived with my family (consisting of two teenage daughters and my husband)and, who has cooked wonderful, healthful dinners for us all, returned to "her New York City" for the summer to be with "Her Yankees!" Right after her departure, my teens turned and asked me the dreaded qestion: " Hey Mom--what's for dinner?" Only then did it occur to me that I had not cooked a weekday dinner in 18 years (although "Sunday Dinner" is a big event.) The next day I purchased the "George Foreman Grill-XXL!" I have used it each day this summer. I have not used my oven--not at all! My dinners have been fabulous! One would think that "Oprah's Chef" now lives in my kitchen! I am convinced that marinating is a critical first step! But, beyond that, everything I have cooked--salmon, tilapia, chicken breast (boneless), pork loin, lamb, breakfast steaks... (for dinner) have been superb! In truth, I actually look forward to coming home and "creating" my wonderful summer dinners! Together with a wonderful salad, or a light pasta dish and a crispy vegetable plate..... life cannot get any better! Clean up is a breeze! The grill looks as good as the day I bought it! The beauty is that you know that you and your family are dining well and healthfully! It is a win/win for everyone! I have e-mailed 30 of my "hard working women-friends" about the George Foreman Grill. Today, 18 are now "Foreman devotees!" Indeed, several of them have sent gifts to me as presents for "turning them on to George Foreman and his Grill!" The question is : "What did we "working women" do before the George Foreman and his Grill?" God bless George Foreman and his grill and all of you! Thank you George! Sincerely, Betty Noel-Cushenberry Washington, D.C.

Makes indoor grilling quick and easy,

This review is from: George Foreman GR30CB XXL Grill (Kitchen)
I am pleasantly surprised by how well the George Foreman grill works. Even after reading all of the glowing reviews I was still skeptical that this would be a good product, but it has turned out to be a great addition to my kitchen.Using the grill is very simple. Just plug it and let it warm up (strangely there is no temperature setting or on-off switch). Once that is finished, toss on whatever you want to cook, close the lid and come back in a few minutes. I've found that chicken breast and steak cook in a matter of minutes. It also works well for vegetables and seafood. After you're finished cooking, let it cool and then wipe off the grilling surface with a wet towel. It's that simple. The only downside I have found is that it burns foods that are of varying size. For example, if you have a couple of chicken breasts on the grill it will tend to leave a charred film on the top of the largest breast. This can be solved with better food preparation so it is only an inconvenience. Also, if you are trying to decide which size to get and think the XXL might be too big, think again. It is the perfect size for 1 or 2 people. It allows you to cook several pieces of food at once (maybe 3-5 chicken breasts or 2-3 decent size steaks) and doesn't take up an enormous amount of counter space.

Burgers and Bacon work well,
By scott_from_dallas (Irving, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: George Foreman GR30CB XXL Grill (Kitchen)
Yes, the ad shows for burgers, chicken, etc. for sandwiches, but I use this thing mostly for bacon. Practically no mess and clean up means sacrificing about a half dozen paper towels. Frying bacon is the worst. If the splatter doesn't get you, the grease injestion will. While George doesn't make bacon low fat, this at least removes much of the grease out of the food.Burgers work well too, though if you are used to an outdoor gas grill, get some seasoning on the meat first. But for cooking burgers and then the buns indoor, this grill is top rate. But get the biggest one. The smaller ones just aren't big enough for more than one person.

Emeril, move over, I am now a cook,

I am seriously cooking challenged, perhaps the biggest moron from any kitchen in North America. In my mid-30's, I can barely boil water and have never made a hot meal for myself. I rely on fast food and my dinner generally consisted of Cheerios (literally). Everyone at work have urged me for over a year to get the George Foreman grill. I warily watched George's infomercials and grudgingly resisted taking the plunge to buy this grill. I thought there was no way it could possibly be as easy as Foreman made it seem. Boy, was I wrong.I have had this grill for three days and can honestly attest this is the best hundred bucks I have ever plucked down. Already I have made hamburgers in a jiffy, grilled salmon, shrimp and boneless chicken breasts. This may seem like nothing to you, but for someone who regarded Shredded Wheat as a gourmet meal, this grill has put a huge smile on my face, not to mention my husband, who is dancing a jig whenever the cooking aroma wafts his way. Using the grill really is as easy as the infomercials claim. Grab your hamburger patties, sprinkle on some seasoning, pluck them down on the grill, close the lid and six minutes later you have a perfectly cooked burger. I was in ecstasy the first time I tasted one of my creations. No longer am I the most cooking challenged human being on the planet, I am giving Julia Childs a run for her money. God bless George Foreman, this product is fantastic. If you're a novice cook or a pro, you can't go wrong with this product.

a few problems,
By "jolesca" (Ft. Buchanan, PR Puerto Rico) - See all my reviews

I love the "George", but have started to encounter a few problems. I have owned the "George" for several months and have had wonderful meals from it. Recently, I have noticed that the surface of the grill is starting to peel in a couple of places. Close to the edge and right in the middle of the grill on the raised bumps. Not sure how this could happen, since I clean it with papertowels or soft sponges. Would love to hear if there is anything we could do about this. And one more thing, I think it would be a great idea for the drip pans to be stainless steel. The plastic is hard to clean because grease and plastic are not a good match. Thank you

A Knockout Of A Grill,
By A Customer
This review is from: George Foreman GR30CB XXL Grill (Kitchen)
With a family on the go, this handy grill from George Foreman is a knockout in the 1st round! As George says, he wouldn't put his name on something that wasn't good. We keep ours right above the fridge and use it quite often for a quick steak, a couple of burgers, small fish fillets with dill, or our favorite--boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Sprinkle some seasonings, especially sage and celery seed on the chicken, and you get a fast flavorful healthier snack. We also use it as an addition to our oven with bigger meals. Sunday bacon sizzling is perfect with "George"--no shrinking, just the come and get it aroma without all the splatter. For faster cleaning, keep the drip pans in place and wipe down while it is still warm. The video that comes along with it is instructional with some good recipes. One note, we prefer to use a slanted non-stick spatula, for easier handling. Other than that, a great buy from a great guy.

We purchased this grill when it first came out, ours has the bun warmer on top. This grills every thing to perfection. Try bacon for breakfst, WOW. I like it crisp, my husband wants his just done ( soft & limp ).The different degrees of cooking with this is wonderful.Fried green tomatoes is wonderful. This would be a great gift for college students living away from home. We are sending our son off with one.Clean up is quick,( after it cools off ) I sit it on side of sink, with it slanted in toward sink & run scalding water over it, using soapy dish cloth I quickly wash it. Dish towel dry it & it is ready for next use.Bacon & everything tastes like a good restaurant served it up.Try it.

I LOVE THIS GRILL!!!,

This grill is a terrific addition to any kitchen. It is a wonderful aid to preparing quick, easy, no fuss meals. Just toss on a few steaks, hamburgers, kebabs, or portions of chicken or fish, and in minutes they are ready to eat. I have also grilled vegetables such as onions and peppers on this grill, and they, too, turn out delicious.Whatever you toss on the grill comes out succulent, as all the juices seem to be sealed in. Better yet, all the fat drips effortlessly away. It is a much healthier way of preparing meals. Everything also ends up tasting deliciously moist and fresh. It is also a cleaner method of cooking, as you have no messy pans to have to clean. All you have to do is wipe the grill with a damp cloth or paper towel. I recommend that you clean the grill while it is still warm, as it is just easier to clean that way. Otherwise the grease can congeal and harden, making one expend a little more energy in cleaning it. No matter, it is still a lot less effort than scrubbing pans.

I loved it but........,

I recieved the George Foreman Grill as a gift. It was fantastic from the start. I was grilling everything and easily reducing the use of fats. However after about 6 months the bottom grill started to blister , I kept on using it because it was a samll spot. Last week a very large area blistered so I couldn't use it. I decided to try and return it (not to the store of original purchase ... I didn't know which one it was). I took it into a Kmart , showed them the problem and......they refunded the value. Needless to say I was impressed with that. Maybe mine was one bad one. I may try again and buy another one.
