5.0 out of 5 stars Quick dinner come out great.
I had a prior electric grill that was bigger but was hard to clean. The removable plates are a must for me. I also like the wide hinge. I am thinking of getting a second one to be able to cook meat on one and veggies on the other. This is the easiest dinner and my kids love it. The only thing I find that is an issue is the I have to flip the meat or the top tends to...

2.0 out of 5 stars I've used better

I originally bought this model grill thinking I'd use it a couple times a week due to the easy use and cleaning I've seen with other models. I was very wrong. I've found that instead of dripping into the little plastic tray, the grease runs down the curved bottom of the grill and eventually creates a big mess of the counter-top. I really wish I had gone a size bigger. If you are planning to grill decent sized chicken breasts, you have to do it one piece at a time. Finally, it heats very unevenly. Place two burgers on it at the same time and the burger on the right will be slightly burnt while the left burger is barely done. All these things combine into me using this maybe once a month if that, because I don't want to be bothered with the mess and inconvenience.

1.0 out of 5 stars LOUSY!, June 20, 2010

We bought this less than 6 months ago and my wife just threw in the trash. Consistently leaks grease while cooking that comes out under the grill behind the grease pan. This model is an update of one we used for many year until the heating elements failed. Whatever they did in updating should not have been done. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!" I wish I could give it zero stars. I take the blame for not returning it before the deadline. A real piece of crap.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cooks VERY slow and leaks, April 25, 2010

We have owned several George Foreman grills and loved them all. We use them a lot and when we wear them out, we buy a new one. This one does not compare. The grease leaks all over the counter and it cooks EXTREMELY slow. If you aren't hungry when you start cooking it might be ok...but you better like to clean! It does not have low-med-high as the other comment said - not sure which grill she has. It took an hour to cook a pound of bacon. It might be ok for chicken breasts but we will purchase one like the last one we had. George would be most unhappy with this one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worse Geaorge EVER !!, October 16, 2010
This review is from: George Foreman GRP46R 72-Square-Inch Grill with Nonstick Removable Plates, Red (Kitchen)
This is the worse George I ever owned. ONLY good thing about it is the grill plates only are easy to clean up, removable so you can soak then wipe clean. This is my 3rd George by the way. I do minute steaks on them and they are the best. BUT I can only do one at a time and it takes a long time to reheat so I can do the next. Making my minute steaks 5 minute steaks. The mess after on the counter after MANY attempts to reposition the drip tray is all over. The bottem of the machine is covered from it trailing down the bottem. Id give it an extra star for ease of cleaning the plates but because of the mess you have to cleanup on counter, not gonna happen. Not worth the money, just my opinion

1.0 out of 5 stars Sorry I bought it before reading reviews, August 23, 2011
This review is from: George Foreman GRP46R 72-Square-Inch Grill with Nonstick Removable Plates, Red (Kitchen)
I really wish I had read these reviews before I bought the GRP46R model grill. This was our third George Foreman grill..first on had the bun warmer top..the second was much larger. Since it is just the two of us I thought the smaller size and removable grill plates were just what we needed. The first time I grilled burgers the grease ran down the slope and onto my counter top. I thought maybe I didn't have the tray up close enough, but that was not the case. I don't know if I will be another George Foreman product (made in China, by the way) or get another brand name grill. I am very, very disappointed in this grill Judy F. Greenville, Florida

George Foreman GRP46R 72-Square-Inch Grill with Nonstick Removable Plates, Red October 19, 2010, I've had this product since the end of August 2010 and already the non-stick coating is coming off the grill. I can use the grill a couple more times but I don't expect it to last very long because of the poor workmanship and poor materials used. This used to be a very good product that was dependable but now due to shoddy workmanship this is no better than a piece of junk. Spend your hard earned $50 buck if you want but this is not what it used to be. I wanted to rate it less than one star. Buyers beware! Save your money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can be a pain, but knowing what works makes a difference., July 26, 2010
This review is from: George Foreman GRP46R 72-Square-Inch Grill with Nonstick Removable Plates, Red (Kitchen)
I bought this when we went on a diet. I wanted something to help get rid of the fat, as the actual name of the product is the "Lean Mean Grilling Machine" with the emphasis on lean.

The first thing to address is the size. This is not a family sized machine. This is really only good for one or two people. I find it amusing to see complaints on this in reviews, when the size is clearly stated in the title. Think of it this way: 1 medium T-bone steak; 2 medium chicken breast; 2 pork chops, etc.

The second thing is a serious problem that others have also complained about. It does not work well - at all - with high fatty foods nor foods with a high water content. Many reviewers have touched on the subject that the grease runs out, instead of into (what they term) "the drip tray." However it is important to note that so long as you use lean cuts of meat, you won't experience this issue.

Problematic examples:

* Any ground meat whatsoever.
* Pork chops, without the fat well-trimmed off.
* Sausages with casings removed.
* Tomatoes and other high-water content vegetables.

You get the idea.

I have successfully grilled chicken breasts, fish fillets and steaks without any problems at all.

A couple of additional tips that I wish someone had shared with me before using (both are seriously duh tips, but I'm sometimes - okay most of the time - guilty of trying to do things quickly instead of properly):

* They recommend spraying oil on the grill plates before use. This seems obvious, but I learned - after having trouble removing spray build-up along the outside of the grill - to spray the plates before putting them ON the actual grilling machine.
* Actually use the grill times in the manual because unlike most guides, they are remarkably on track. I tend to just let things cook and then get paranoid that it's not done enough so I let it cook even more, which leads to jerky like substances. ;) If you follow the guide, they really do come out very tender. Don't lose it or if you do, download the pdf (just Google it).

All in all, I love it. For things that are higher in fat, I use the good 'ol fashioned broiler (with a tad of water in the bottom to make for easier cleaning).

I have been using my grilling machine for almost two years now. I think it is fantastic. I cook toast in it on High, then reduce it to Low and cook scrambled eggs in it after the toast is done.

In the evenings I cook chicken breasts or hamburgers on Low and they are done in 10 minutes.

It is especially good for the single, unattached community. It would do very well for two people also.

Highly recommended.

NOTE:

Someone has pointed out that this is not the machine I was reviewing, and apparently they didn't like the product. The version of this product I was using was quite good as I said above.
