2.0 out of 5 stars Foreman Grill GR26TMR
After reading good reviews on this grill, I bought it because it seemed like just what I was looking for. I was tired of cleaning my range hood frequently because of grilling meat in a large cast iron skillet. The good: The Foreman grill is easy to clean and does not smoke. The bad: the meat does not taste as good. The grill does not get as hot as the skillet...

I am a thirtysomething woman with the cooking skills of a teenage boy, and the GF Grill was "prescribed" to me by some friends and family who sympathized with my ongoing struggles...and I must say that it has proved to be excellent "treatment plan!" I LOVE IT! I have grilled chicken breasts to mind-blowing juicy perfection, portabella mushrooms, turkey, tofu dogs, and many assorted vegetables -- even such tricky ones as okra -- on this grill. I've found no need to thaw anything or use cooking spray. I admit that I haven't even read the directions that came with it. And it really did clean up beautifully with nothing but wet paper towels. I recommend the "family" size even if you live alone, so that you can grill your entree and side items all at once. This delightful thing now has a permanent home on the counter, and my take-out bills and waistline are sure to improve dramatically. Warmly recommended to all...and remember, friends don't let friends eat fast food!

4.0 out of 5 stars Does wonders in a pinch, March 16, 2003

The larger grill is better made, easier to clean, and more convenient when making a family meal. I use it to cook steaks or whatever, right out of the freezer, in fact. Like the other grills, this one doesn't do well with really thick cuts of meat unless you keep a close eye on it.

For burgers, its perfect, and veggies and anything else you'd like to grill when it's unseasonable to do so outside!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for City Dwellers, November 13, 2002

If you miss summer BBQ's this is for you. I love the way the grill marks the chicken, hamburger, veggies, etc. for a real authentic look, as well as taste. My only suggestion is to cook your food at least 2 minutes less than the recommended time suggested otherwise your meat will out dry as there is no fat to keep it moist. It's wonderful if you live in the city and clean up is very easy, although I do spray the top and bottom with Pam to avoid sticking and easier cleanup.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not soo big!, May 6, 2005

We purchased this about a year ago.

We love the foreman grill. This was the first time we had purchased something like this and we love the way it cuts down on cooking and cleaning! It's a cinch. The grease really does melt away.

The one complaint I have is that "Extra Large Family Size" doesn't adequetly describe this product. It doesn't fit anything more than 2 normal sized steaks or 2 breasts at a time. We would've opted for a bigger one if we would've known it was that small. Other than that we love it!

My Dad bought this with a gift card my brother got him. He's wanted a George Foreman for a while and finally got it. It has been a nice counter decoration for several months now. It hadn't been used. I wanted a little steak the other day and didn't want to have to stand over the stove. So, I plugged this thing in.

It only took about 10 minutes for both sided to be done. It was a great dinner. I also used it to grill chicken and some veggies. Then, I put then in a torilla and grilled to quesadilla on this.

I like how the fatty grease and oils flow into the little tray. Makes you really think about what goes into your body when you use a skillet.

Clean up is a breeze. Just let it cool off and wipe it down with a soapy washcloth. The little plastic trays can be washed in the sink or dishwasher.

I have noticed that the smaller ones also make great gifts, especially for college students (wink, wink).

5.0 out of 5 stars Even I can Cook with the George Foreman!, April 4, 2004

I recently receieved the George Foreman grill and although it took me awhile to get over my intimidation of it (it sat in the cupboard for a few months) - it took about 5 minutes to master it! I am stuck in a temporary living situation and have been living with only a microwave and a toaster oven for 8 MONTHS! Two weeks ago I tried it for the first time and I have been using it every night since then - steak, cheeseburgers, chicken breasts - tomorrow FISH! My parents love theirs too and found a neat clean up trick - not that it is all that hard - but if you put a damp paper towel inside and leave it there while you eat everything just wipes right off! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Reliable, and Quick, August 18, 2006
This review is from: George Foreman Indoor Grill with Timer - Extra Large Family Size GR26TMR
I bought this product after perusing the many rave reviews of it on Amazon, and it has definately lived up to its hype.

PROS

First, the grill is unbelievably simple to use--merely plug it in, let it preheat, slab on the meat, and you have a great tasting meal in less than 15 minutes (including preheating time). Secondly, I have found it very easy to clean. Typically, most grills are quite messy and require you to dig into their surface to get the stains off. The opposite is true of the Foreman grill. Nearly everything is dishwasher safe and it comes out looking brand new. Moreover, I discovered a little trick to minimize the number of washings. I just pour drops of water over the hot grill. The water immediately boils on contact and removes most of the stains, fats, and oils left from the meat, which then drain into the collecting dish below. I next use a damp paper towel to wipe it down. Third, this product is small enough to fit anywhere on your countertop or in storage.

CONS

First, several private label knock-offs of this product are far cheaper, and they work just as well. Secondly, while the taste of the meat is great, it doesn't beat the smokey flavor that is added, for example, by a charcoal grill. On the other hand, since these outdoor charcoal units are inoperable during the cold and rainy seasons, the Foreman grill is very practicable for those who like their meat all year long.

WHY THIS PARTICULAR FOREMAN GRILL

I bought this particular Foreman Grill for two reason: it has a timer and because it can fit several chicken breasts and steaks at one time. Just be careful with the timer. It will beep to alert you when it is preheated and when finished cooking, but it will not turn off the heat. You have to manually unplug it. If you leave, for instance, a chicken breast a little to long, it will dry out. Fortunately, the product comes with a handy-dandy quide to cooking times.

We love this grill so much. It is easy and quick. The only down side is cleaning it after since you can't just stick it in the sink. If clean up were easy I'd give it 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a pain to clean, November 30, 2003
This review is from: George Foreman Indoor Grill with Timer - Extra Large Family Size GR26TMR
It is a nice unit, always cooks the food well. It is very easy to use and I use it at least 2-3 times a week. The only pain is that grilling bases do not remove for easy cleaning. Especcially if you are cooking something with sticky sauce, clean the thing is a pain. Other than that it is pretty good.

4.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!, August 6, 2004

This is the best wedding gift EVER. I use it almost every night, for chicken breast, or Boca Sausages... It makes my veggie dogs so nice, and crisp that even my meat lover husband is happy. My only problem with it is that the teflon is scratched off in 2 places, and it has only been 2 months. I used only the scraper they gave me but still.. Oh well. It is still my fav kitchen gadget.
