buyers beware, January 20, 2011

This a wonderful collection of arias and duets from various Handel Operas. However one should be aware that it is virtually the same collection as a two CD set on Virgin labled "Heavenly Handel." Only two selections are different. The earlier set has the Cornelia/Sesto duet from Giulio Cesare. The new set substitutes two arias from the same opera sung by Janet Baker and Valerie Masterson. As much as I admire Virgin's release of so many admirable Handel collections I do feel ripped off by this "new release" with a different cover.
