If you bothered looking this far, you are a fan and should just buy it. Great tunes.

I recently bought an LP copy of this album, directly from Mr. Lucas, following a recent Local H show I attended in Kansas City. It was a blind buy, but a friend had informed me that they thought it was decent. So, I went with it! And am glad I did, cuz it's a solid record.
First off, if for some reason the band name on the cover escaped you, the first song will inform you that this is NOT a Local H album. And this is certainly not a bad thing. Just... a different thing. Overall, this is a way more laid back effort than anything Scott has released with Local H. Some of the songs sound as if they were simply recordings of some musicians playing in a room together, which according to the description, they are. And the room ambiance really shines through on the vinyl LP! :D For me, the best tracks are as follows : "Extra Special Bitter", "What Fools Allow", "Weatherman" and (my personal favorite!) "Get Up! You Damn, Dead Horse". The whole album is really good, and shows a completely different side to Scott's songwriting talents. But, the songs previously mentioned, are the stand-outs for me. And I can't help but take Scott's off-key spots in "Get Up! You Damn, Dead Horse" as a big middle finger to this trend of so-called performers auto-tuning the hell out of their vocals. After hearing so many of his rants at Local H shows, it would be hard to believe that they're not aimed in that direction! All in all, if you're a fan of Local H's music, definitely check this album out for a different take on Scott's songwriting! Other notes concerning the physical product : My vinyl copy included a ticket for a free download of the entire album. I'm assuming this would be the case with all vinyl copies of this title.

Sorely misled,

I'm typically a very open-minded music lover but this one flat out sucks. While I really dig what Scott Lucas does with Local H, he just isn't suited to write/perform these types of songs. The vocals are terribly weak and off-key in places and the music is just plain BORING. Rock onward, Scott....this ain't your cup of tea.
