5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Legend In Country Music
I cannot say enough about this book,George is my all time favorite and the book says it all.How George got started and how he kept on going even after the death of his daughter,it had to be so hard for this man to sing some of the songs he does,George to me is real country and I am so glad I purchased this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars It was terrible
The person that wrote this book only did it for a fast buck.. I read the book and luckily the bookstore took it back and apolozie for ever having it on the self...

If you are going to write something use your own words and research so much of the information was taken for articles and his book out of Strait Out of the Box...

I even found somethings in there that...

I even found somethings in there that weren't fact ...ITs a shame that this person thought so little of George Strait... If this person was a real fan or someone with respect for Mr. Strait.. They would of left the book idea alone.. George doesnt' want books written about him ... What should this tell publishers and authors... It was in bad judgement.. and I can't beleive it was published and sold .

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written compilation, April 2, 1998
I was extremely disappointed in this book. It was poorly written and equally poorly edited. The book is filled with facts easily found in the liner notes of Strait's cds, particularly the booklet that comes with 'Strait Out of the Box.' The remainder of the book is track listings and generic reviews. The grammatical errors and unimaginative language makes reading this book a painstaking event. It reminds me of a junior high research paper. I imagine there was very little effort put into this. It comes as no surprise that Mr. Strait did not authorize this book. He was wise not to give his approval. The author shows no sincere admiration or interest in his subject, which leaves this book lacking any life. Sure, I love George Strait, but a bad book is a bad book. On the bright side, I checked out a copy from the library and didn't waste any money.

1.0 out of 5 stars IT WAS HORRIBLE, September 23, 1998
By A Customer
This book is a complete and total embarrassment to anyone who, like myself, personally knows George. Half of the content is pure filth, while the rest is easily available in the box-set and/or in some of the CD covers.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love George Strait, so when I saw this book I got it., September 14, 1999

It is so hard to find memoribilia of George Strait, so when I saw this book I knew I had to have it. The only way you can get other stuff of his is to join his fan club, and that is expensive after awhile.

1.0 out of 5 stars George Strait, March 6, 2008
This book was a complete dissapointment. There was nothing written about his personal life. It just tells about the names of his songs. After reading the book I don't feel like I know George Strait any better than before which is very sad because that is the reason I bought the book in the first place. I would highly recommend not wasting your time or money.

5.0 out of 5 stars As a new Strait fan, I enjoyed this book very much., October 25, 2005

Nana (Las Vegas) - See all my reviews
Some of the information in this book I have seen elsewhere, but some was new and interesting. It's nice to have so much about Mr. Strait in one concise book. I liked his music before I knew who he was or that he was the one singing so many of the songs I liked on the radio. I know he is a very private person, and doesn't give out many interviews. Yet I didn't feel like the book pried too much, or that I was reading speculation or gossip. Much of the facts are from news already in print and stories from people who knew him only casually. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to any new Strait fan, or even an old one.
