10-Song Essential,
This review is from: "George Strait - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
With "50 Number Ones" out for sale, it's hard to argue a better economical and jam-packed value, but there's no disputing the best 10-song collection belongs to Greatest Hits Vol. 2. George remains the most consistent country artist within the last 40 yrs (I would argue the most consistent in COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY), and the proof lies in GH Vol 2. For those who remember cassettes (much less 8-tracks, a couple of George's I own), nothing quenched the thirst of country traditionalists in the 1980's like this album. My father and I took many a road trip from Texas to Montana (a one-way 3-day trip) to the tune of GH Vol 2. Absolutely, positively, the soundtrack of my life.

You Can't Go Wrong With A Collection of Strait Hits,
By
This review is from: "George Strait - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
You take no risk buying a collection of George Strait hits. Even if you don't love every song (I personally am tired of All My Ex's and Ocean Front Property) there's always enough great music to make you glad you put it in the player. The Chair,Nobody in His Right Mind, and it Aint Cool to Be Crazy About You are simply superb ballads.

George Strait has more number ones than any other country music artist. He's also got another one now with 'I Saw God Today' and had one in early 2007 with 'How 'Bout Them Cowgirls.' His number one hits status means he has a lot of compilations on the market.
Although I really enjoy his installment in UMG's '20th Century Masters,' it can't match this set. This features my 10 favorite Strait songs, including 'The Fireman,' 'The Chair,' 'Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind' and of course the country music anthem 'All My Ex's Live In Texas.' Overall, if you are a casual fan or a new George Strait fan, you'll get your money's worth with this classic. Highly recommended. ENJOY!!!

ALL MY EX's ACTUALLY DO LIVE IN TEXAS...,

This album is one of the greatest from George Strait,
It has alot of his older hits. "IT AIN'T COOL TO BE CRAZY ABOUT YOU" A good song but it has to many memories attached to it. Personally to me the whole album is good, but it's more of a tear in your beer album. People can say what they want about the newer country music, but people like George, Hank JR, and Willie Nelson are who made country music what is today. I rate this CD a 5 of 5 stars!!

The BEST of George Strait,
By Shawn (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Greatest Hits 2 (Audio Cassette)
After years of shunning country, this was the first CD that made me fall back in love with it. Since then, I have embraced other artists such as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Brooks& Dunn. Among many others! A # 1 CLASSIC album that opens doors and keeps memories alive. Real down-home country that also is not too "twangy". I recommend it for fans of George and also budding country fans that like the 'roots of country' but not too much cry in the beer stuff. GREATEST HITS # 1 also is a perfect collection. He still ranks as one of the best, so anything he comes out with is GREAT, but this is a BESTBUY!!!!

This CD demonstrates why George is the King!,

A requirement for any music lover---this is one of my all time favorite CD's ever. It exemplifies the best of George Strait and for that matter country music. Every song is a CLASSIC---from the unforgettable lonesome fiddle on "Amarillo by Morning" to my personal all time favorite (that he still ends his shows with)--"This is Where the Cowboy Rides Away". You can not have ears and be disappointed. The fact that these songs are still being played over a decade later attests to the timelessness and quality of this fantastic album. BUY IT!

If there's one tape you'll always find in my car's tape deck, it's "Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" by George Strait. I love George's music, but I absolutely adore his older stuff. If you enjoy his older stuff too, then this is the tape/cd you've got to have. It's got all the classics, such as "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind", "The Fireman", "Nobody In His Right Mind Would've Left Her", "All My Ex's", and "The Chair". If you want to compliment this cd, buy "George Strait - Greatest Hits" which has even earlier stuff. This is the kind of music that made George Strait King of Country! Gennie Bailey-Rogers

Sorry, I need to correct my former review. "Amarillo by Morning" is of course found on his first Greatest hits album, not on his second. "Nobody in His Right Mind" the definitive belt-buckle shiner-- was the song I intended to mention. Both albums are what GRAIT is all about!! You can't go wrong.
