5.0 out of 5 stars Hilariousness
It's nice to watch a DVD that's funny during this angry election year. I'm a Bush supporter and even I found his Bushisms something to be laughed at. I liked the JibJab guys too and this DVD has that same fun appeal to it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept, lacking on execution.
The magic of Bush's verbal gaffes is that they are plentiful and unyielding. It's hard to fault the makers of this DVD for wanting to inject their own commentary on Bush's blunders, but it weakens the overall effect when you have "Title Card"/"Bushism"/"Commentary-Joke" one after the other... I guess that's why we have the internets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Misunderestimate This DVD!, October 7, 2004
This review is from: George W. Bushisms (DVD)
I've watched this DVD about a dozen times and still can't get enough! The DVD proves that Brian Ungar needs to be back on the Daily Show! He couldn't be funnier. Al Franken has a great segment about Bush that i think everyone should watch. There's Bushisms on here that i've never even heard before!

4.0 out of 5 stars All the best "Bushisms" in one place., November 7, 2004
This review is from: George W. Bushisms (DVD)
The best thing about this DVD, is having access to all Dubyas' classic blunders, all in one place. The songs and commentary got old pretty fast. But, who wouldn't want the best of the best like. . .

"There's an old saying in Tennessee. . . I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee. . . that says, fool me once. . . shame on. . . shame on you. You fool me, you. . . can't get fooled again."

or

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the host commentators, imho, have the personality of a couple of bricks. There's no need to point out why the clip was funny, we get it. Their talking seem to be more of a space filler then anything.

4.0 out of 5 stars the video clips are the best, October 7, 2004
This review is from: George W. Bushisms (DVD)
by far the best thing on this dvd are the video clips of the bushisms. i can't believe our president says the things that he says. you can almost watch his brain working as he speaks. its extraordinary! i've seen a few of the bushism clips on-line before, but never have they all been in one place before.

the dvd is divided into funny chapters like "Bush on the economy" "bush on education", "bush on iraq" etc...each section has like 6 or 8 bushisms...some i've never ever seen before...there's other stuff on there too like the george w. bush singers which are cool, but the music videos at the end get a little boring. the theme music rocks, i wish they would play it on the radio.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly sad that he was "elected", July 12, 2011
This review is from: George W. Bushisms (DVD)
I can't believe this man ever ascended to the presidency. The things he said before being selected for our nation's highest office and after are truly mind-blowing. But, unfortunately, he pales in comparison to Palin's gaffes. If you ever watched in mixed horror and astonishment as Bush spoke pre-presidency, you must get this DVD so we can remember to never let history repeat itself.

4.0 out of 5 stars A treasure-box of brain-work ..., October 7, 2005
This review is from: George W. Bushisms (DVD)
The TV satirist Brian Unger (The Daily Show) presents here some of the most impressive Bush intellect performances. The Bushisms are representing a straight method of world explanation, which is helping amazingly to find an easier way of thinking. The journalist Jacob Weisberg, delivering the quotation-material, has been able to convince a broad public in his books of this little treasure-box, as which the brain of George W. Bush can be classified. The DVD is completed with artistically similarly third-class song presentations of the "George W. Bush Singers", there are comments of Al Franken, Cartoons of Gary Trudeau and animated sequences of Chris "the Sketchboy" Roulty. The whole Bush-Bible is sorted by chapters like "Bush on the economy", "Bush on education", "Bush on Iraq" etc... Pulitzer Prize performances cannot be expected, some moderation is superfluous, it is enough, that Bush makes a donkey of himself acting alone, without any comments: "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we..." The money for this DVD is not spent wrongly, because it informs us, what kind of a leader a large democracy is able to choose ...

3.0 out of 5 stars A lot of wasted content and no extras....., April 22, 2005

With a run time of just over 61 minutes a lot of time has been wasted on content that just isnt even remotely funny. What possessed them to include 4 "songs" by the George W. Bush Singers ?
These "songs" are embarrassing and merely consist of repeating what has already been stated elsewhere on the DVD. Worst of all they take up over 11 and half minutes that should have been spent on more Bushisms ! And to top it off, at the end of the program more space is wasted, 3 minutes, on a David Letterman style Top Ten "Bushisms", that isnt funny and once again repeating what we've already seen. Jacob Weisberg has published 4 books on "Bushisms", surely there's more than enough content to fill a DVD without having to resort to banal filler material ?

3.0 out of 5 stars "Fool Me Once...Whatever!", October 22, 2005
This review is from: George W. Bushisms (DVD)
It is now clear to the world that G. W. Bush has dyslexia and a poor understanding of the English language. So what? He has the title of the leader of the free world, but everyone knows that the power is behind him with his administrative staff. This parody simply resurfaces all the horrifically embarrassing moments this Bush has poised himself as communicatively inept. Of course, that is an egregious position for a person of that position to have. I do fault the producers for playing some linguistic missteps in a "Laugh-in" manner. This is not funny stuff. Thousand of people have died since Bush took the Presidency and although his presentations are a literally laughing matter, this DVD does nothing than depress the left and infuriate the right. The American people and the world now know what is happening and this is not the kind of product we need other than for completely illiterate poor folks (not my term), residents of other countries (who already know this material) or frat house boys. We need peace! This is no longer a laughing matter!
