If you love Roald Dahl, this audio CD revision is a must. Richard E. Grant brings George, his grandma, and his parents along with the animals to life in true storyteller tradition. The voices make you want to sit back and enjoy the story in all it's glory.
Being unabridged you can follow along with a copy of the book un-hand. And it makes a great bedtime story that parents and children can enjoy together.

While not the tour de force of the Wonka books, James or his autobiographical collections "Boy" and "Going Solo," I must still recommend this quite highly. Tee only reason for not giving it five stars is that it's not "The Best of Dahl," as it were; nevertheless, Dahl's imagination and storytelling are a wonder to behold across the body of his work.

We purchased the audio edition and it's been listened to MANY times.

Our entire family has enjoyed listening to this story, some of us even twice. The book's entertaining story held the interest of Granddad (69) down to grandson (6). A fun story, well told!
