Book Description

Since Georgie Quinn’s mother died after a brief illness, the highlight of her life has become “jogger stalking” every morning with her roommates Tess and Cat. Stuck running the senior center her mother founded in Newport, RI, until a replacement director is found, Georgie dreams of returning to her glamorous life in Atlanta. As that life begins to unravel, she discovers a whole new one in Newport where the jogger turns out to be sexy detective and tree hugger Nathan Caldwell. Determined to get her mind off her many problems—including a possible threat to her own health—Georgie indulges in what she intends to be a no-holds-barred one-night stand with Nathan. Unfortunately, Nathan has other ideas and sets out to have a relationship with her. Tess, on the run from an abusive husband, and Cat, who raised her younger brother and sister, hook up with Nathan’s brothers, Ben, an injured Iraqi war veteran, and Ian, a single-father and talented musician. Add a zany cast of seniors who seem determined to drive Georgie slowly mad with their never-ending needs and comparisons to her sainted mother, and you’ve got the ingredients for a fast-paced, often comical, emotional journey that leads Georgie straight to the home of her heart.

From the Author

Writing this book was a labor of love in so many ways. I had the opportunity to feature my hometown of Newport, Rhode Island, and I got to write about a young woman grappling with the aftermath of her mother's death, something I understood all too well. After my mother died in 2004, I experienced some of the same things Georgie does in this book. Like her, I still have my mother's robe.
When creating the cast of characters at the senior center, I needed to look no further than my dad and his band of pals to find true characters. Thank you to George, Bob, Good Gordon, Bad Gordon, Harry, Arlene, Diane, Agnes, and Mary for letting me "borrow" your personalities, and to the late Tom Dawson, whose one-liners were unforgettable.
To my husband Dan, who inspired my treehugging, running hero, thank you for all the fodder. Will you ever forget the dental floss? Emily and Jake, you guys are the best kids ever. Thanks for letting me do what I love to do while loving you, too!
Thanks, as always, to my friends Christina Camara, Julie Cupp, Paula DelBonis-Platt, and Lisa Ridder, who read, edited, and critiqued. To my readers, Mary Grzesik, Aly Hackett, Ronlyn Howe and Kara Conrad, you all have become such a great friends! Thanks for the beta reads.
To all my readers and friends who have made my writing journey so extraordinary, thank you for your unwavering support. I hope you enjoy Georgia on My Mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Caldwell Boys On My Mind September 27, 2011

It was like reading three wonderful love stories all mixed into one.

Marie Force has done it again, bringing her usual warmth, fun, flirty females and sexy, love at first sight Heroes. Ian, Ben and Nathan...I can't pick just one....I really have a soft spot for all of my guys...a single father, a broken veteran and a sexy Detective, who always says the right things...HARD CHOICE!!

And the heroines are just as much fun and have all captured my heart in different ways...Georgie is our main girl, who likes lusting after jogger guy, but doesn't want to hurt him once they become involved.....but when the kisses ar that good....she just can't resist. I really loved bad ass Cat, who just wanted to have a little fun....but her heart rules stronger than her head....and sometimes what you think you don't need might be exactly what is right in front of you. And Tess...sweet Tess....or sassy, dirty minded Tess.....I really loved them all and I loved her and Ben together...their chemistry, their conversations, their kisses and romance....I was so happy that they found each other.

Well, I loved Georgia On My Mind and I know you will download it now!

4.0 out of 5 stars "Georgia on My Mind" -- another winner from Marie Force September 26, 2011
By Anne W
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Georgia Quinn is back home to settle her mother's estate and keep the senior citizen's center her mother founded running smoothly while the search is on for a replacement director. Living in her mom's house along with two roommates, who have problems of their own, Georgia, who prefers to be called Georgie, wonders how life can turn so quickly from one filled with an exciting job and glamorous lifestyle in Atlanta into one where drooling over a good-looking jogger each morning is now the most excitement in her day.

When by accident Georgie and "the jogger," a/k/a Nathan Caldwell, a police detective, meet face-to-face sparks ignite and Georgie has one thing in mind: a one-night-fling with the gorgeous detective. But Nathan doesn't agree and has his own plans for something much more permanent.

The cast of secondary characters includes a delightful group of senior citizens who add a comical side to the story, as well as presenting additional complications to Georgie's plans for a timely return to her job and home in Atlanta. There's also a 3-romances-in-one-book bonus when Georgie's roommates, Tess and Cat, find themselves romantically involved with two of Nathan's brothers, Ian and Ben, who face demons of their own.

Fighting off her growing feelings for Nathan and faced with pressures from her boss to return to Atlanta, Georgie makes her decision. But love doesn't always follow schedules. Sometimes what's perfectly right finds you when everything else is all wrong.

The author breathes life into these characters. She gives you characters you care about long after the last word is read. Her characters are realistically portrayed (except for maybe Rosie, Ian's 3-year old daughter, who seemed much more mature than her age reflected).

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Okay October 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I gave this book 3 stars because it was just okay for me and I liked the side romances that where going on. I Love Marie Force's books but this one dragged for me. The main character (Georgia)was annoying. I understood her grief but she couldn't make a decision about anything and that contradicts the type of person she was suppose to be. She was suppose to be this strong independent career woman that had a great life in Atlanta. When really she was whinny and weak. I will say I did enjoy the other relationships that were developing and their characters. The seniors added laughs too.

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable read, but... May 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked the book. Action moved quickly, and she managed to cram a lot of stories into just the one book. There are just two things that kept me from giving it 5 stars. One was the number of people in the book who fall in love on sight. Somehow it just doesn't ring true. The other is the 4-year-old girl who thinks and talks like an adult (I'm a grandmother, and I had sisters & cousins galore -- this just does not happen). Apart from those two faults the characters are all likable and the plot believable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! November 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just finished this book five minutes ago and felt absolutely compelled to write a review. This book was excellent and the characters were developed well. I can see how some might write about how the book dragged out or how Georgia was annoying but really I thought it was realistic and relevant to today's woman. Georgia's mother dies a few weeks before she officially meets Nate and with everything going on in her life and the stresses of such a loss as well as what her mothers breast cancer means to her and her sister it boggles my mind to read other reviews that say this book dragged and that Georgia annoyed them etc...
Also a woman career that she has worked hard for for 8 plus years is important as well. We all should be so lucky to have to ask the question of which is more important my dream job in Atlanta or sexy Nate.... Let's be honest most of us would love to have to make that choice....
Ok I'm done complaining about the other reviews that were not so positive. This is a book that brings you into the lives of many people really well thought out characters. It was really funny, it was really sad at times but it also makes you think.... This is not a superficial romance novel about shallow characters. I thought Marie force did and excellent job in explaining all of the intertwining relationships ...except for the one between sisters as I am super close to my sis as well as my mom and like Georgia I call her everyday..
It was also touching to read marie's dedication to her mother and her words about her mom. I thought this book was too short....I could have used more pages when her sister was still in town....More pages with Tess and Ben and more pages with Ian and cat. Loved the part where the three women would wake up early to watch Nate love love the old men at the senior center!
This is a fabulous book and a must I'm gonna go call my mom :)
