A great resource for anyone traveling in Georgia,
By
This review is from: Georgia Off the Beaten Path, 9th: A Guide to Unique Places (Off the Beaten Path Series) (Paperback)
I've lived in Atlanta for years now, and a little over a year ago I realized I hadn't seen much of the state beyond my city. I bought this book last spring, and I absolutely love it. If you're looking for the everyday tourist attraction that everyone flocks to, this book covers that (but only in a passing comment or 2). But most importantly this book covers, in great detail, fantastic places many Georgians and tourists overlook. The condition my copy of this book is in should tell you how much I love it and have used it. Not only does it list attractions, but it also covers festivals and other events specific to cities of all sizes in Georgia. I prefer off-the-beaten-path types of travel, and this book has made me appreciate and love all of the history, kookiness, and personality that my state has to offer.

I've lived in Georgia for 30 years, bought this book decades ago when I first moved to middle Georgia and have totally destroyed it. When I recently re-read my ancient edition (late 80's), I realized that there are still plenty of places I haven't visited. I'm getting a new copy so I can start exploring different parts of the state, especially now that I'm living in North Georgia. So many neat little towns and out-of-the way places to visit.
