This is a great value. I feel like the quality is there, and I love that they are individually wrapped. If you have the space, the box is a bit large, they are worth the larger price tag initially. Two-ply feels solid but be for warned, I am a fan of strong toilet tissue rather than soft; I find strong tends to pill up on the buttocks hairs less often than the softer versions do. This is not a soft toilet tissue, rather, it is an efficient way to wipe ones buttocks and leaves no debris behind.

All of the comments by V. Lewis are correct, but those are all the reasons I like this TP. It's made from 100% recycled materials, has no chemicals added(hence no flowery scent), and it disintegrates very easily for the septic system. We use this on our boats because it doesn't clog up the pipes. True, it doesn't come wrapped in plastic and could get messy in a downpoor, but I think GP intentionally doesn't want to use any plastic on packaging this product. This is a much cheaper, better quality alternative to the Seventh Generation and Marcal products.

While this is a 2-ply tissue, each ply is extremely thin and light, meaning that you really need to use more to accomplish the same task. Upon careful inspection you can see that the tissue is indeed embossed (more like a watermark), but you cannot feel the embossed areas, so it doesn't provide any utilitarian benefit at all. This stuff isn't as good as other Georgia-Pacific industrial-commercial bathroom tissues like Angel Soft ps or Angel Soft ps Ultra, but it is definitely less expensive per sheet. Frankly, none of these will rival consumer products like Angel Soft, Charmin, Northern, and the likes, in terms of comfort and performance.

Let me provide a comparison to another commercial bathroom tissue - Georgia-Pacific Angel Soft ps. Using GP's own product specifications found at http://catalog.gppro.com/catalog/6189/14351 and http://catalog.gppro.com/catalog/6189/19576, you can see that GP Angel Soft ps bathroom tissue roll is physically the same width and diameter as the GP Preference, but there are only 450 sheets in the Angel Soft ps. The same size roll of Preference contains 100 more sheets. This alone tells you that the Preference sheets are thinner than Angel Soft ps. There's really no "fluff" to the GP Preference bathroom tissue.

This bathroom tissue will get the job done, but there are undeniably more comfortable options.

This is one heck of a great value. At the price we paid, it comes out to about $0.70 per roll. Not bad at all for decent, 2-ply toilet paper made from recycled materials. It's not Charmin or anything, but to me that's a benefit. I'm not a fan of the super-padded bleached stuff. Around here, our only options for recycled toilet paper are;

- Green Forest, which pills up and leaves bits of itself all over my butt

- 7th Generation, which is rough and unpleasant

- Marcal Pro, which is worthless thin trash

I'm 100% satisfied with this Georgia-Pacific Preference toilet paper. Which is a good thing, because 80 rolls will last a LONG, LONG time.

We've used this product at our vacation home for years. I don't understand the complaints that have been posted about this product. Good quality and good value. We now use it at home as well.

I don't know if I got something different than what other reviewers got, but in all my many years I've never seen two ply toilet paper this thin. I first thought it must have separated when I started a roll, only to find that both plies were there.

It's pretty much see-through thin and it is literally impossible to use the same amount I was accustomed to using with Cottonelle Ultra. In fact, I have to use twice as much to have the same effect. I guess I had no idea what good quality the other brand was until now. If somebody offered me another case of this for free I would decline.

I guess the good thing is that I should go through this case pretty quickly and I can get back to using something normal again.

Good no nonsense plain paper. Not too soft nor too tough. Economical and excellent all around value for the money.

I haven't bought this paper on Amazon (yet), but we use it exclusively at work. Personally, I love it. As other reviewers have said, it's not too thick, and it's not too thin. Moreso, it's smooth. I think smoothness frequently gets either entirely overlooked, or used interchangeably with softness. Typically, they do go hand in hand but I think it's worth mention. I think softness is also used as an interchangeable term (at times, by some, not all) for thick.

A prime example of this would be say, Charmin Ultra. It's very THICK and SOFT, with an almost pillowy quality to it. However, I wouldn't call it SMOOTH because they are very heavy-handed on the embossing and quilting on the paper. It is still well-liked because it's soft and doesn't have the crinkly quality to it so the embossing doesn't make it feel as rough as if it were a less-soft paper.

Georgia Preference on the other hand is not THICK (nor pillowy), but it is both SOFT and SMOOTH. That is, is doesn't feel crinkly in your hand and the paper doesn't feel rigid like a paper towel. It also feels smooth when you rub your finger against it, thus it also feels very comfortable against your skin. If your skin is irritated at all, this won't feel like you are scraping it with a balled-up piece of printer paper.

Here is how I'm rating the TP:
Soft = when you crumple it up, does it collapse upon itself like cloth, or does it crinkle like a paper towel?
Smooth = if you lay it flat on a surface, does it feel rough that way, like many paper towels? (Think any paper towel vs Viva.)
Thick = if you folded the toilet paper sheet over sheet, how high would your pile get for the same number of sheets?

By the way, I'm using all caps in place of italics or bold, not to look like a weirdo.
