Readable.., February 6, 2011
Somewhat talky, but still readable, I was able to read this in a single weekend.
The character of 17 year old Charlotte, is interesting, but not totally convincing, she seems to talk as one feels no 17 year old would talk, not today's youth anyway!
The lead character, George, a married 45 year old man with two kids, is typical of the lead characters that dominate Sloan Wilson's books and our lead character is about to enter a mid-life crisis of sorts, as he meets a young 17 year old girl whose mother he jilted 25 years before, to his lasting regret, only to lose her (the mother), to an alcoholic playwright who is about to take up a new position in the collage where George is vice-president.
