5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable reference for the geotechnical engineer's library, May 12, 2001
By
This review is from: Geotechnical Engineer's Portable Handbook (Paperback)
I have found this book to be a good place to jog my memory on topics which I haven't dealt with recently. I have also used it as a starting point for a more detailed review of a given topic. When you consider the high prices of many geotechnical engineering references (as much as $350 to $499 for some 'handbooks'!!) this book is well worth the money. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dave, June 9, 2009

This review is from: Geotechnical Engineer's Portable Handbook (Paperback)
I work in geotechnical and structural engineering, often in the field. This book is an excellent tool for my purposes. It contains a broad array of information, importantly being light on the theory in order to provide a HANDBOOK. I have other geotech textbooks, but they do you no good in the field because you can't carry them all. This handbook provides me with what I need when away from my textbook stack.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent book for using anytime and anywhere, September 26, 2005
This review is from: Geotechnical Engineer's Portable Handbook (Paperback)
I am using this book at any job site, written very simple and clear, and used a lot graphs, tables, pictures and useful formula. This book makes easy to understand geotechnical engineering by categorizing different subjects. I recommend any geotechnical engineer should be have one of this handbook in the own library.
