More About the Author

Marie Hall is a NY TIMES and USA Today bestselling author who loves books that make you think, or feel something. Preferably both. And while she's a total girly girl and loves glitter and rainbows, she's just as happy when she's writing about the dark underbelly of society. Well, if things like zombies, and vampires, and werewolves, and mermaids existed. (Although she has it on good authority that mermaids do in fact exist, because the internet told her so.)

She's married to the love of her life, a sexy beast of a caveman who likes to refer to himself as Big Hunk. She has two awesome kids, lives in Hawaii, loves cooking and occasionally has been known to crochet. She also really loves talking about herself in the third person.

Marie Hall does it again, with this extremely satisfying story of love and betrayal. Gerard's Beauty is a romance retelling the classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast which also happens one of my favorite fairy tales of all time.

Danika, the fairy god mother and Wonderland matchmaker returns to help make a love match that was written in the stars but neither the beauty or the beast wants to find their mate.

And what a beast! At his first introduction, I wasn't sure Gerard even deserved a happily ever after, but for all the macho airs he puts on he has a soft spot in his heart for his Belle. He's French, handsome, and oh so very sexy.

Betty is a librarian and she's had one too many men in her life who think they are God's gift to women. Her life experiences have made her resistant to Gerard's charms and she needs to be loved for more than her body.

I don't often mention secondary characters but I do have to say I fell in love with Briley. I have a special needs child at home and he hit a soft spot with me. I loved seeing him in this book. :)

It was a real treat to watch these characters on their emotional journey to a happily ever after. Gerard's Beauty had similarities to the classic story but in the end this was a completely new book and nothing like the book I have read so many times in my childhood.

Reading a Marie Hall story is better than treating yourself to a rich chocolate dessert. It's satisfying with way less calories. I can't wait to read the next installment in this series!

Gerard's Beauty is AMAZING!! At first, I thought, why should he get a "happy ever after"?! But then, as we all know, there are always TWO sides to every story! I decided to give this one a try... I read Marie Hall's previous book Her Mad Hatter, and enjoyed it... so, figured this one would be good also. When you first meet Gerard... you don't like him, he's conceited, arrogant, and has a HUGH ego.. among other things! But then, Betty starts getting to him. He realizes he isn't "God's gift to women"... but he wants to be that to Betty, and only to her. This book is a must read! It grabs you from the beginning, and doesn't let go til the end... even then, I found that I couldn't get it out of my mind! I wanted to reread it over. I can hardly wait for Marie Hall's next book to come out!!

Great story! It was fun reading about how Gerard must win the heart of Betty when he is sentenced to Earth. The only things that I would have wanted different are that Betty apologized too often to Gerard when it was Gerard's doings that brought him to her. Also, Gerard was a little too prideful of his relationships with a ton of women.

Bravo! What a creative story! It proved to be a delightful read. I laughed--the author did a wonderful job of bringing out the humor in the fictional situation. There was nothing deep about this one--just a short read that was fun, fun, fun. A guilty pleasure :-)

What a great idea for a book series. Fairy-tales for grownup girls, because most of us have figured out that prince charming isn't the most interesting guy in the Kingdom.

Note* Definitely a book aimed at adults. Some sex, some language.

A feel-good story.

I will read more of Hall's "Kingdom Series".

Five giggling stars.

This was an absolutely amazing romance. I have read the first of this series as well and wow such a good author. Keep up the great writing and I'll keep reading. Makes me want to watch beauty and the beast and cheer for Geston.

This was the 3rd in the Kingdom Series novellas that I have read by this author (although the second in the series) and it did not disappoint. With her clever twisting of the traditional faerie tale, incorporating pop culture references, humor and a last chance effort for the faerie godmother to the "bad boys of the tales" to match her boys with their soulmates, the chase is now on for Gerard.

In a twisting of the Beauty and the Beast, Gerard is the ultimate bad boy beast, with enough cracks in his armor to make him huggable, even at his worst. Betty has a great heart, but was very reluctant to trust in another man: let alone one with Gerard's track record. Danika believes that these two are just perfect for one another and tricks, cajoles, browbeats and gloats as the story proceeds.

Marie Hall's stories will grab your interest quickly, with characters that you will recognize as believable even with the magical elements. Conversations sparkle and attitudes are clearly defined, humor is liberally sprinkled throughout: usually in the heroine's voice and observations. I had, back in 2012 called her one of my favorite authors to read - and nothing has changed. While this book will stand alone without the reader losing plot points or being confused , you will want to (and I suggest that you do) pick up the other installments in the series.

I received an eBook from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Ask yourself. Am I beautiful, smart, intelligent, and maybe, just maybe, a bit different?

Try this story. Find out about a magical world in which a man can justifiably change who he is by falling in love with a woman who is unlike any other. A woman who is not ashamed of being herself, yet at times can be a bit bashful.

Do you love fairy tales? Happily ever afters? Don't you ever wonder what it would be like if the pull of your love for a man was so strong it could change him? To allow him to see pure unadulterated love?

Our female lead is a woman you can relate to. And well, Gerard, a sexy beast on all his own.

This novella is funny, quirky, cute, and sexy. Try it.
