5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable!, June 4, 2011

This review is from: Gerber 07500G Multi Plier MP600 Blunt Nose Carbide Insert Cutters with Sheath (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have carried/tried almost all of the multi-tools on the market, and this Gerber is my hands-down favorite. A Gerber was the first multi-tool I bought and a Gerber is still what I carry daily.

Lack of planning usually leaves me with one hand hanging on to whatever I am working on, so the one-hand-opening is vital. I like the blunt jaws for twisting and grasping and the replaceable carbide cutters work on some tough materials. The tool is sturdy and stands up under rough handling.

There is no perfect do-all tool and for some things the high-end Leatherman tools are better with their more easily accessible knife/saw blades and needle-nose jaws, but for jobs that call for easy access and brute strength the Gerber 600 is tops.

5.0 out of 5 stars they are hard to find but worth the money, January 19, 2009
This review is from: Gerber 07500G Multi Plier MP600 Blunt Nose Carbide Insert Cutters with Sheath (Tools & Home Improvement)
these are the most handy multi tool we've found, we prefer this version to the folding "butterfly" kind you see everywhere. easier for one handed operation, just plain more convenient.

4.0 out of 5 stars multi-plier blunt nose, November 5, 2007
This review is from: Gerber 07500G Multi Plier MP600 Blunt Nose Carbide Insert Cutters with Sheath (Tools & Home Improvement)
I would like to give this a five rating, but they now have the blade option being difficut to open, they don't have the groove in the blade matching up with the indentaion in the handle so its difficult to get the blade out. But I now like the blade being just that, rather than when they had (or have)the serrations also on the blade. Other than the indentations not matching up, it's a very good purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice multi-tool, September 29, 2011

I bought this Gerber multi-tool to replace my old Gerber that was very similar.
I love how strong & well made my replacement feels. My old Gerber
was close to 15 years old and to my supprise, the new one is every bit as good.
The knife blades lock, unlike the old models, which I really like. I don't know why wire cutter has replacement jaws as my old unreplaceble cutter blades worked fine. Pliers are very strong & positive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Tool, August 3, 2011
This review is from: Gerber 07500G Multi Plier MP600 Blunt Nose Carbide Insert Cutters with Sheath (Tools & Home Improvement)
When I bought my first Gerber MultiTool in the early 90s, I bought it as a novelty item. I thought it was just a cool gadget. The first hour I got it I found a use for it. Straightening and then bending a coat hanger to get into my Cherokee that I locked with my keys in. I have used it at least once every day since then. After almost twenty years it was still working like new until I misplaced it in a move. I bought a replacement for it but the only ones I could find in the stores were needle-nosed. I missed the strength of the blunt nose. Thanks to Amazon I now have my blunt nose back. As long as I don't lose it, this one will last long after I'm gone!

5.0 out of 5 stars best belt tool - blunt nose is the way to go, May 16, 2011
This review is from: Gerber 07500G Multi Plier MP600 Blunt Nose Carbide Insert Cutters with Sheath (Tools & Home Improvement)
tried leatherman and found it too cumbersome to open (minor point) and, more importantly, the pliers lacked sufficient grip. the gerber is the much better at holding/gripping because of the blunt nose pliers. i was weary of sliding mechanism but it never fails. buy it before they stop making it

4.0 out of 5 stars Great multi tool, February 18, 2009
This review is from: Gerber 07500G Multi Plier MP600 Blunt Nose Carbide Insert Cutters with Sheath (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is one of the better tools that I have found and purchased. The tools lock into place when you open the knife. The knife blade has kept it's edge. The tool is not heavy and bulky.

I use this multiplier when I am sailing, and always have it on my belt. Many fixes can be made on the spot, saving a visit to the tool bin. I believe there are similar tools that cost more, but I haven't seen one at a higher cost that was better.

5.0 out of 5 stars One handed Dynamo!, October 6, 2005
The Gerber Blunt nose Multi Tool is one I always carry.

Although there are some features inferior to the Leatherman Super-tool 200, namely the size of the knife blades, and the great saw on the Leatherman. The Gerber tool has many advantages, foremost among them is the tool only requires one hand to operate (two buttons on the side allow the pliers to slip up into place), and the other big advantage is the blunt nose end on the pliers allows easy gripping on larger items than just wire (very handy if you need a quick turn to a nut or bolt). A couple of other advantages, the can opener works slightly better than the Leatherman's, and the Philips screw driver is #2 (although it is very short and clumsy.) Personally, I carry both when working.
