Have not been using these as cloth diapers, but as everything-else baby rags (particularly as burp cloths). If I had to do it over again I'd buy the Carter's organic cotton pre-fold diapers. I borrowed a couple from a friend recently and liked them much better. But, these are very economical, and they do the trick. Plus, I like that they're bigger than the pre-fold diapers, as that seems to make them a bit more multi-purpose.

These Gerber prefolds have some polyester in the "absorbent padding" so they are not really 100% cotton. In fact, I think it's the synthetic material inside that caused the leaking/repelling issue we encountered when using them as diapers. That said, they make really good burp cloths and the fabric is durable.

These are SO much better to be used at burp clothes, and work much better than the actual burp clothes.

They're LONG and have a super absorbent middle, so when the baby decides he's going to spit up quite a bit, it rarely makes it off of the cloth, and it all gets soaked up immediately, so it doesn't roll far at all, protecting our clothes and furniture from little accidents a very good majority of the time. (I say majority, because there is the occasional projectile spit up, and nothing any burp cloth can do about that!)

Never buying burp clothes again when these work SO much better.

As far as a diaper goes, not sure, we've never used them as diapers.

We love using these as burp cloths. We have them all over the house. I have some that are prettier -- people who are sewers can do wonders with these just by adding a strip of fabric or fleece or a little ribbon and embroidery. But I find that the plain ones are what I want when it's a really big mess. They're soft and so far (5 months in) pretty durable. I think one is kind of coming apart in the thicker part (and these are the kind that have the thicker part in the middle with two thinner sides ... if that makes any sense).
