This review is from: Gerber 22-01968 Remix Clip Folder Knife with Fine Edge (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased the fine edge and serrated edge Remix and found that the locking mechanism is prone to failure. If interested, see my video review under the serrated edge Remix comments section.

I like the knife for the most part, but I do not advise buying until Gerber fixes the way it locks! The plastic in the spine bends and fails if any rope cutting force is applied. Love the edge and the way it feels that I give 5 stars but Locking is a complete 0. Suggest fixed blade version of this knife if you must have. I recommend Gerber trades Either the plastic in the spine with stainless or aluminum or redesigns with lever lock back which would make it easier to open.

I got the knife in the projected time frame, but when I got it, despite the thorough packaging, it was somehow dotted with tiny amounts of rust. I mean, it's a good knife and all, and the rust hasn't spread, it's just... there. Maybe it was an off-balance mix, resulting in an alloy that wasn't stainless everywhere. Who knows? I kept it, though, since it looked sound, and it seems to be doing just what it was made to do. No complaints about the durability, and it's not very hard to clean it (just use a Q-tip on the inside, and it's fine). The ring grip might take a bit of getting used to, but it's very comfortable once you're used to it.

I have read the other reviews and even seen a few on you tube. I have had mine for over 2 years and it's still going strong. The blade has not let me down to pry things open. Letter opener, wire stripper, even when I used it to close and open my power windows. I do have to say some of the reviews on you tube is either they jus happen to get a faulty knife.

i purchased this knife about a year ago and am happy to say that i love this knife. it is very solidly built and very sharp. the lock is secure, though it may take some getting used to. after reading other reviews i see that some people find this knife hard to open. i will admit that one handed opening is difficult, but with two hands there is no problem once you get used to it. simply pull back on the lock with your dominant hand and open the blade with your other other hand. this releases any pressure on the hinge from the lock, which is what causes the knife to be difficult to open. i would also like to note that gerber seems to have removed any and all plastic from this knife. now to my only complaint, the clip. this knife has the most flimsy pocket clip of any knife i have purchased. if you plan to carry this knife on a regular basis i would suggest removing the clip and using the lanyard hole to create some other carrying option. i put a d-ring through mine. so to sum up this review this knife is simply awesome, if you don't mind opening it with two hands and are not planning to use the pocket clip for every day use.

the knife is larger than anticipated. But husband showed me the item in a magazine,so I ordered anyway. That being said, my husband still loves the knife even if it isnt small enough to carry in his pocket for those 'emergency' repairs.

Good Everyday Knife,
This review is from: Gerber 22-01968 Remix Clip Folder Knife with Fine Edge (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have owned this knife for close to 5 months now and have not had any issues. I carry it everyday and use it often throughout the day. The blade keeps a sharp edge even when cutting stuff like cardboard. I have had to hone the edge once so far. I can't say that I have experienced a lock failure, as the other reviewer did, in the time I have had it. I was a little apprehensive about the lock at first. I am used to liner lock knives. I like the large hole on the end. It makes gripping the knife a lot easier and feels very secure in my hand. I took one star off because you cannot open the knife one-handed very easily. I can open all of my other knives one handed. I can just barely open this knife one-handed. I prefer not to open it one-handed because I might end up cutting myself.
