From the Manufacturer

We had the big idea some time ago: Craft a handsaw with interchangeable blades and a handle wrapped in our famous Gator texturing. But now we've upgraded the concept to be stronger than ever. With beefier construction and an improved blade exchange mechanism. Our saw blades are made of premium stainless steel, as is the blade channel. Whether you're using the coarse blade for normal wood cutting or the fine blade for hardwood and big game bones, you're doing 1/3 less work when compared to other saws. The soft rubber overmolded Gator grip is a case study in how to make a saw easy to hold and effortless to use.

Well made and very durable.

I must have cut through maybe half a dozen deer pelvis and sawed the quarters off all of them as well and the bone saw still works just fine.

Then as I continued sawing the blade broke near the base.

I bought this saw years ago to cut the pelvis bones of deer to field dress them. Let's talk about that first; the bone saw cuts right through them. I must have cut through maybe half a dozen deer pelvis and sawed the quarters off all of them as well and the bone saw still works just fine.

The wood saw cuts extremely well, better than much longer bucksaws, in fact. I even use it to trim the trunk ends off our resinous Christmas trees every year. I hunt, hike, and camp a lot and I have a lot of experience using this saw on just about everything. It may be of note that I live in Pennsylvania and we have frozen wood to deal with and in my area, almost all the woods are hard woods like oak and sugar maple.

Was thinking about buying a Bahco Laplander, but I really don't see the need to at this point. I'm perfectly satisfied with my little saw.

Shortly after buying this saw I used it to clear some brush around a stand. First, the tip of the saw blade snapped right off. Then as I continued sawing the blade broke near the base. I have used folding saws for years with no problems. The metal for the blade is clearly defective.

Great saw, somewhat heavy, but it will not split apart like the plastic version. However, the replacement blade they recomend does not fit this saw.

I replaced an old folding saw ( the wood handle one from Sear, circa 1992 ) and I will say it is night and day comparison between the 2. Given the age of the saw being replaced, I never recall the old saw working this well. The old saw had some use on it, on par with I would say used 5 times per year ( don't have a lot of call for the hand saw ). I get more use out of my fiskars pruner / pole saw that I bought in 2000 ( Fiskars 9240 Telescoping Pruning Stik.

The coarse blade goes right through root balls in no time flat from 10 YO bushes. I have yet to try the fine blade.

The blade release feels like it is not tight ( due to a very easy open movement ) but the blade does not move at all when being "leaned" on. This weekend I finished cleaning up some bush removal, and cleaning the root balls down to a size that would make them easy to handle was quite quick work. I also cleaned up some roots, and this saw went right through them.

I bought this saw to replace this saw: Gerber 46048 Sportsman's Wood Saw, Coarse and I am very disappointed. This exchange-a-blade saw just refuses to cut through anything without binding on every other stroke. For some reason the teeth on the course blade get clogged very quickly with wood bits and the cutting performance takes a dive.

I can compare it to the saw on my Leatherman 830685 Charge TTi with Nylon Sheath. I love the Leatherman charge TTi with a passion. But the saw is sub-par at best.

This saw is just not what I was expecting. The previously mention saw that costs half what this one does, cuts easily 3 times better than this one. I will be buying another one of the cheaper Sportsman's saws and probably giving this one to some homeless camper.

This is the first tool of this type I've ever owned. It made the cleaning of an animal so much easier and safe from cuts from a knife.Bone was the only thing I cut with it while cleaning deer that had been harvisted.I've been cleaning harvisted deer for thirty five years and it has never been this easy. The smaller blade did the job time and time again with little effort. Its handle is easy to hold on to while covered in the animals blood. Also easy clean up and small space storage in fanny pack. Its a GREAT tool for a sportsman.

This is my first folding saw and as these things go, it's clearly better than a knife for 4-6" diameter wood. So for firewood collecting, this is great. Is it better than other folding saws out there? I have no idea. But it's built fairly well and the sheath is good, designed to hold both the folding saw and extra blade. All in all, a good to have item for hiking.

Bought this to use as a pruning saw around the yard. Worked well when I needed to trim back a very large holly bush but struggled a bit with an evergreen tree where a bow saw would have been a better choice. The adjustment knob on the pivot screw tends to come loose with frequent use, so a drop of loctite on the screw is a good idea.
