Product Description

From the Manufacturer

We built these knives for the non-conformist in you. The Ripstop I has a super-lightweight frame lock concept that delivers bold strength and high functionality. The weight of the all stainless steel construction knife is made lighter by the intriguing handle and blade design. There's no bulk in the thin, streamlined handle. Dual thumb studs make opening the blade a snap. Closing it is a simple one-handed step.

I've been a fan of Gerber for several years and have had one of their multi-tools for quite awhile and use it frequently. The downside to something like that, is it doesn't fit in a pocket well and, for my job, it doesn't do to wear it on my belt. That's where this knife comes in. Small and light, it fits well in your pocket. The tab on the blade makes it an easy open knife that locks into place. Great for just about anything you'd use a pocketknife for. From opening boxes to sharpening a pencil to stripping some bark off a downed branch for kindling. This is a great knife for everyday use.

Fits perfectly in all of my jeans without bulk. While not the easiest to flick open one-handed, since the knife is brand new, I believe it will become easier in time. It is a solid build and maintains a nice edge with little maintenance. The skeleton frame is very easy to clean. Great product for an everyday pocket knife and is such a reasonable price you simply can't NOT buy it.

Solid construction. Knives are personal items. This model clips nicely into my back pocket. The perfect weight and size for my everyday use. Open design allows me to easily clean it. Comes razor-sharp out of the package. I like it so much I own three.

-Pros-
I am very pleased with this knife. The blade doesn't bend or wobble at all, it is built very well. The para-frame design is easy to clean as others have said. The finish is alright, might get smudgy if you look close but a knife is meant to do work right? It's perfect sized and lightweight enough to carry in your pocket comfortably.

-Cons-
Others have said that this knife is extremely sharp. Just to be clear, out of the box this knife will cut things if you try to cut them... but razor-sharp this is not. If you compare this knife out of box to a hand-sharpened razor-sharp knife (sharp enough to shave hair) this is dull by comparison.

I tried to sharpen this blade with my stone but due to the short blade, and the placement of the thumb-stud... it's nearly impossible to properly sharpen without removing the thumb stud. I got a decent edge of the last 2/3's of the blade, but the part of the blade closest to the handle will have to stay dull unless I can figure out how to get the thumb-stud off.

Just wanted to say that this is a great knife, looks good, sturdy, and I would recommend this knife to anyone. However, it is NOT razor-sharp, or anywhere close to it.

This Gerber pocket knife is fantastic. It's made of beautiful stainless steel and the screws are of high quality. Even though it's small, the knife is comfortable to hold and use. The locking system hasn't had any issues at all.

It measures in at just under 3.5" long and 1" wide (at it's widest point).

Very high quality product. I would definitely buy it again.

Not the best knife on the market but perfect for my needs. I carry this in my pocket everyday for opening boxes, letters, etc. Comes sharp enough for every day usage. All you need to do is hone it once a week.

I have a Gerber knife, and my husband wanted one he could have in his pocket.
This was a stocking stuffer for him.
It fits well in his pocket and does the job it says it will do.

We will never own other knives than Gerber
