I bought this flashlight after trailing a small blood trail with a normal flashlight for two hours one night. When I had to use it several days after it arrived, I was impressed that it really did make the blood stand out with a red color and subdued the background colors well. If you believe other online reviews, the three LED colors make this the most effective Gerber product so far, but I have never seen any others in operation. I would definitely recommend it, though some might consider these type of flashlights expensive. The next step up is probably a full CSI kit and I would think that would be much more expensive.

I purchased this light with more than a little concern about wasting my money. I have used this to track 2 deer now and have been very please with the performance. I would not classify this as a miracle product, as some have, but I do not feel like I have been taken either. This product does show blood very well but it requires you to change the tracking method most of us practice. I found it to be of no advantage to locate blood within a foot or two of my feet (no better than a bright flashlight) but the ability to pick up blood at 4 to 6 feet was greatly enhanced. I would recommend this product but I would not classify this as a must have product.

I have to say that this does not make the blood jump right out at you. Really if you have a good flashlight which costs a lot more than this one it would be better. My brother used his police flash light and it worked better. If you were in a field with just dirt I would imagine it would work great. Then again any flashlight would. I hate giving bad reviews but I am not overly impressed.

If you're tracking in an area with a lot of red or reddish leaves, this unit will actually make your tracking more difficult. The light makes anything red or reddish look blood soaked. I should have spent the money on another box of cartridges and practiced to make a better shot instead.

This light outdid all the others my hunting buddies had when it came to tracking a deer. More light, great contrast.

The game tracker by Gerber is a well made blood light, used it not long after I got it (didn't need it, just used it) and it makes the blood really stand out. The one thing that would be nice is if it were a flashlight as well, but hey it's great as is because it really works, and the price was right.

Well made and better designed than previous models. Have not had the chance to test it yet but I am optimistic that this is a more refined version of the earlier models. Easy to carry.
