Good, but . . .,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gerber Electric Bottle Warmer (Health and Beauty)
This bottle warmer works great! It is very fast and warms up breast milk with very little effort. However, it does not work with all other bottles. I was disappointed when I bought 9oz. Avent bottles and they did not fit. The box says that it works with all bottles, even wide-mouth bottles, that is not true.

Watch for Electric Shock!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gerber Electric Bottle Warmer (Health and Beauty)
I used this bottle warmer for 1 day, right after we brought our son home from the hospital. I read the directions, it wasn't too difficult so I know I used it right! I actually got shocked several times by this bottle warmer. I would go to grab the bottle and would get shocked everytime! I would recommend looking elsewhere, thank goodness I wasn't holding my son when this happened!

Will this bottle ever heat???,

I bought this warmer after using it at a friends house with great results. This is a great warmer if you are using tap water and powder formula. If you are using ready to feed or stored breast milk the warmer takes 10+ minutes to warm the bottle. I think I will return it and stick with my method of heating tap water in the microwave and sitting the bottle in the cup of water.

Worth the small price,

This product is a lot cheaper than some other models out there and does the job it is supposed to do -- warm up a bottle fast (about 5 minutes). It has a little tablespoon measure so that you know the right amount of water to put in, but this isn't really necessary after a few times. You just put in a splash from the tap. Negatives are 1) it doesn't have an auto-shutoff so you don't know when the bottle is ready, you have to keep checking, and at least a few times you will boil the milk accidentally. 2)if you are using normal instead of wide bottles, steam comes out around the sides of the bottle and can burn your fingers as you take the bottle out. I now grab the bottle by the nipple instead. 3) There is no on-off button, so you always have to pull the plug out of the wall. Occasionally you will forget and the heater stays on, the water boils away and although nothing bad has happened to us, this seems like a hazard. ... Expensive warmers come with coolers so that you don't have to go to the kitchen in the middle of the night. We were tempted by that but finally decided it wasn't worth the money. Overall, we are satisfied with this warmer and think it was worth the small expense.

Not Very Safe,

I used this warmer 4 times. Each time I got an electric shock from it. I know there has to be a safer alternative. Perhaps another brand. I started to just fill up a bowl with HOT tap water and place the bottle in it for a couple of minutes. I found that to work just as well, and was not as painful as the shocks!

Nice to have....,

This is a nice thing to have. We used it everytime we had a late night feeding- we keep it in the bathroom right accross the hall from the baby's room. We would start the bottle warming, then get the baby changed and by the time we walked back into the bathroom the bottle would be ready. I NEVER got shocked by this product and it sits right next to the sink! It is lightweight and great for traveling- we take it up north when we go - very easy! I would buy this again!

Not a Bad product,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gerber Electric Bottle Warmer (Health and Beauty)
I got this item as a gift and it was wonderful. I used Gerber bottles in the beginning (but ended up really disliking them) and switched to a the Vent Aire bottles. I was able to easily warm up my baby's formula in the Vent Aire bottles (remove the nipple and cap) and the formula came out nice a warm. The ONLY time the formula was EVER too hot was when I rushed off to soothe my crying baby and left the bottle in the warmer for about 2 minutes longer than I intended to. Still, that was not a problem and within five mins the formula temp was perfectly warmed again. But, like I said, it was ONLY the one time. I used Gerber bottles in the beginning like, I said, and they fit the warmer just fine (but I really couldn't stand the bottles themselves). So, all in all this a good product for the price. I am sure the newer model warmers are perhas a bit better, but you really can't go wrong with this warmer for the price. I have friends who CONSTANTLY complain about their Avent warmers and are sorry they spent so much. Try out this warmer and you might be pleasently surprised by how it works, but if not at least it didn't cost a fortune! I would use this product again!

Not worth it.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gerber Electric Bottle Warmer (Health and Beauty)
I registered for this after hearing that it wasn't safe to microwave baby's formula. After using it a few times, I was really disappointed-it took forever to heat the formula and I was shocked once. It doesn't have an on/off switch and the water inside will collect and turn brown. I guess you get what you pay for.

Fast and Easy,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gerber Electric Bottle Warmer (Health and Beauty)
This was just an extra item on the list, not thought to be of great importance at all, but ..... it has proven to be extremely useful. It's fast. It's small so it's easy to pack and go. And most importantly it's directions are simple to follow. It just makes life that much easier for you and anyone you may be leaving the baby with. I would recommend it to everyone.

Broken- straight from the factory!,

This review is from: Gerber Electric Bottle Warmer (Health and Beauty)
It never worked. We followed the directions, filled with the required amount of tap water, plugged it in and nothing happened. We left it plugged in longer, and it never warmed. We tried this a few times with no luck. So, we took it back for a refund. We found that a cheap soup-sized thermos is just as effecient if you fill it halfway with really hot tap water and dunk the bottle in it. It fits the bottle perfectly- and can be toted in the diaper bag for on the go warming. 5 stars for Thermos mugs! Oh, and you can buy a couple of these thermoses for the price of one Gerber warmer. ;) One for the house, one for on the road. |
