This is a great multi-purpose cloth. Uses include:

Diapers: I prefer other brands of cloth diapers but these work okay.

Burp Cloth: These make great burp cloths. They cover a larger area then traditional burp cloths and are very absorbent.

Wash Rag: I use these to wash my son's face and hands after he eats. They work great.

Peekaboo: My son loves playing peekaboo with these. They're small enough and light enough that they're easy for him to pull on/off his face to play peekaboo with us.

Cleaning Rags: Once we're done using these for my son they'll make great cleaning rags.

The cloths start off very stiff and get softer as you wash them. I would recommend washing them at least 3-4 times before you use them. Even after repeated washings they are still somewhat stiff. The texture is closer to a washcloth then a blanket.

These flatfold gauze diapers are great for newborns, as they adjust easily to fit a small size. They are very absorbant, though not as much as the prefold styles (which even though they are infant sized are much to large for small babies). They are easy to wash ( just a little bit of soap, cold water- 2nd wash no soap on hot water- then line dry-- do NOT put into dryer as with any cloth diapers) and easy to fold into whatever shape is needed. You can also layer these for additional absorbancy.

I bought these after an acquaintance recommended them as a burp cloths. They work well to absorb moisture as burp cloths but irritated the skin on my baby's face and causing an outbreak of his eczema. I thought they would soften after a few washings but they have been through the wash with baby detergent at least 5 times each and are not that much softer. I am now trying Green Mountain Prefold Diapers as burp cloths.

I ordered these hoping that with the price being do high these would be a better quality than the variety I could buy at Walmart. They were, but just barely. They are very thin and see-through, and not at all soft. I am considering sending these back and making my own, since I cannot find cloth diapers worth the name diaper even from such a well known brand as Genera. The people who design these things obviously have no clue what baby pee and spit-up is like, or they would use more absorbent cloth.

We use these as burp cloths with our twins. They work great for all types of messes with milk and solids. We found these to be more useful that the smaller advertised burp cloths

If you are buying cloth diapers for burp cloths I would not recommend these. They are very thin so spit up just goes right through them. I now use these as cleaning rags.
