I don't really understand the complaints about these spoons being too shallow. I have been using them with my baby since he was 6 months old. I like that they are shallow because it allows food to slide off quite easily into your baby's mouth. My little one got the hang of eating off a spoon very quickly, and I credit that in part to the design of this product. I don't notice any rubbery smell and we've been washing them just fine in the dishwasher. My only complaint is that the pack I got was very pastel (not like the one shown in the main product image)- it contains a lot of pink/lavender spoons which is a little girly looking if you have a little boy. But they're spoons- so who really cares, I guess. :) Anyhow, these are great spoons. I will only buy a different set when I feel that my baby is ready for a more advanced spoon shape.

I used these spoons for my son's first "solid" foods. Because the first foods are more liquid than solid, these spoons were so shallow they hardly held anything on it before it hit the baby's mouth.

These won't last as long because they hold less food per spoonful than other deeper spoons.

The lip is SO soft and rounded that when you use the spoon to catch dribble on the baby's chin/face, it actually just smears it or pushes it around rather than scooping it back up.

(Buy the multicolored Munchkin spoons which are just as soft, will wipe food off the baby's face better, and hold more, thus lasting longer for when your child starts eating more volume and chunkier foods)

Dishwasher Safe, Baby likes them.... soft tip for babies teething. 4-8 months babies is probably the ideal time to use these. We've graduated from these into bigger spoons. 10 months old.

I chose these because of the silicone tip and shallowness of the bowl. Since using them, however, I am greatly displeased. When I tasted something from the spoon I noticed a distinct perfumey taste - like soap. I don't use scented soap, so it wasn't actual soap. I also stopped washing them with soap, opting for very hot water to clean them, instead. They STILL have a TASTE. I am NOT happy with this product at all.

Besides the mislabeling on the website (which I reported), these are pretty great for first solid foods. They are soft silicone tips that are gentle on the gums and new teeth, and though they don't hold a lot, it makes it easier for the baby to learn how to deal with food. (A bigger spoon would likely get pushed out more immediately).

These spoons are very shallow, which I thought would be a good thing - make it easier to transfer the food from the spoon into my son's mouth when he was just beginning to eat rice cereal. But since the spoon is also thick because of the silicone coating, the food just ended up being pushed off the spoon by his lips, so now I never even use them because it makes feeding too messy. I also bought the Munchkin Soft-Tip Infant Spoons... those are great and cost about half the price of the these spoons. I recommend getting those instead. I should have just bought two packs of the Munchkin spoons and saved some money.

I use these spoons daily and never use my other ones- Nuby brand. I originally liked the price for the amount, and then after using them this is the only spoon I use. My son just started eating solids, and what makes the spoon best for him is how shallow the spoon is. My other spoons were too deep and when you put the spoon with food into the baby's mouth, he was unable to get the food off of the spoon. These work really well and are a nice small size for travelling as well.

Think these spoons are much better than the munchkin ones that are on the bestseller list. The munchkin ones are too deep and my child would make more of a mess using those. Gerber Nuk spoons only have a slight dip and we are making way less messes these days. There is more of an ease to eat with these spoons. Def a good buy!
