I'm completely confused about the other reviews about the handles and spouts on these cups not lining up. At least on the ones I purchased, the handles spin so that they are lined up no matter what, which is why my 10-month-old son has such an easy time with them. He can hold the cup any way he wants to. Plus, the soft spout is the perfect transition between a soft bottle nipple and a hard sippy spout. He loves these and after purchasing over half a dozen sippy cups these are the only ones we'll buy now. They don't leak, are super durable, easy to clean and he seems to be able to control the flow of liquid to his liking.

I purchased these along with several other types of sippy cups because a friend told me it would take a while to find one that he would like. The name is a little misleading...I thought "soft" meant the spout would be squishy...more like a bottle, but it's really quite rigid. I will reserve complete judgement of these cups because I figure I'll give them another go when he's a little older, but definitely not a good cup to start out with. If you're looking for a good first sippy, my son really likes the NUK Learner cup with the silicone spout. We used the NUK bottles so this was an almost seamless transition. Infact they use the same bottle and just add handles and a differnt shaped nipple. Highly recommend those!

UUG! The lid doesn't line up with the handles and then I couldn't get the stupid thing open to get out the breast milk and put it in a different cup. I would much rather waste a cup than valuable breast milk so I had to cut the spout off, poke the white part down into the cup and pour it out into a different cup. These are AWFUL.

I bought this cup with my first son two years ago. I liked it because it did not spill when turned on its side and the handles helped too. I did have ptoblems once and a while lining up the spout with the handles like other reviewers, but I decided to buy the same cup again for my second child any way. It looks like the manufacturers have changed them a little because now the handles swivel so there is no problem when trying to line up. It's a great cup!!

Overall this is a good product and my 3 and half year old has been using this for more than a year.
This was the only sippy cup that she liked after trying several.

The good thing is that it is easier to clean than most other cups and there is hardly any spills at all.
Although after about 8 months of use, the opening on the lid is almost chewed out and instead of the three holes in the spout it is one big opening, but the valve still functions and keeps the liquid from spilling.

Another drawback is during cleaning the inside of the lid there are couple of gaps at the opening of the spout where it is very difficult to clean and the only way to get milk deposits out are to keep the lid in hot soapy water for some time ( about an hour) to make sure that it is absolutely clean. If it is not clean you can actually see the dirt deposit if you pull the inside gaps a little bit.

My son did really well with these cups and I liked them a lot. They don't spill, thats my favorite part about them. I dislike that they are extremely difficult to take apart. And now that we've been using them a while, I CANNOT get the lid on the right way so that the mouthpiece is centered between the handles. You're thinking, just twist the handles. You can't, the handles only go on the cup one way. I have no idea how these things became mis-aligned, but its irritating. I prefer the other gerber cups, the ones with the handles attached to the lid.

I like the cup alot, with the three little holes on the chewable spout; easy for the baby to hold. However, I had to remove the valve on the inside of the spout because the amount of sucking required to get any liquid through it was greater than even I could provide. So, if it's too hard for me to suck any liquid through the valve, it has to go!!

My wife and I have been using this model of sippy cup for years. Yes, it's true that the lid when screwed down all the way does leave the nipple part exactly over the handle (90 degrees off from the picture you see). But you know what? Our 3 year doesn't care. And neither do we (except to drop one star here). Instead, we appreciate that these don't leak! And they are easy to clean and assemble. I love the engineering of these cups. Most sippy cups have 2 holes, one to let the water out, and another to let the air in. These just have 1 hold that does both. The air doesn't go in until the child stops sucking, and the vacuum pulls the water (or milk) back into the bottle so it dosen't leak. So we've bought this model over and over again after having tried many others. The hold up pretty well. I have no complaints with these.

When we 1st got these cups, we loved them. In fact I went out and bought 2 more. We occasionally have issue with the lid lining up, but if you just twist a little more they line up. My biggest issue is getting it clean. We don't have a dishwasher, so hand washing is it. When my son is done with the cup, we at least try to rinse everything and usually soak the lid, but over time, I noticed that there is particle buildup inside around the spout. I've used a nipple brush and tried boiling the lids, but they don't come clean. Maybe the buildup wouldn't have happened if we had always given them a good scrub with the nipple brush, but I can't seem to get rid of it now that it's there. Be a thorough cleaner and you may have better luck.

I have tried and tried to line up the spout the way it is pictured when I bought it and can't get it to line up correctly. I just gave up after trying for 15 minutes and came on-line to find that many others are having the same issues. Why is NUK Gerber continuing to sell a defective product?!? Trying to give busy parents one more thing to stress about?!? Do yourself a favor and don't throw away your money on these cups your child can't use correctly.
