I'm using them with the Dappi 100% nylon waterproof covers and quite happy with the performance so far.

Product Description

Gerber Training Pants 3 pack - A wonderfully basic training pant that can be an effective potty training tool. The center panel consists of front and back layers of 100% combed cotton and the interior is a 50/50 cotton/poly blend for added absorbency. These have enough absorbency for little leaks on the way to the toilet and are inexpensive enough to keep plenty on hand. Frequently used with Gerber Vinyl Pants to keep clothing dry. They are also great under pants for toddlers through size 3T (approx. 36 lbs). The training pants come in three packs that are your choice of either boys colors, girls colors or all white. Actual colors and patterns vary over time and are not necessarily as pictured. Girl's and boy's colored packs consist of one white, one solid and one print.

These are great training pants. For sizing-- my 22 month ols son usually wears 18 month clothes and he is wearing the 2T size (he's 25lbs). These are a great "first" underwear for my son. He loves the cars on the underwear and can pull up and down the underwear by himself (if he really wants to :) ). He can feel when he's peed in them and yet they have that extra padding in the crotch area so it does slightly absorb his accidents. I still need the Dappi 100% Nylon diaper covers to keep him completely waterproof but the extra padding is really a fantastic feature. The elastic does not leave marks on his skin and the underwear almost fits him more like boxer briefs than simply briefs which adds to the cuteness factor. I have not been a fan of Gerber clothing as I feel they generally run super small but these training pants definitely have my vote.

We have been using cloth diapers for our youngest child, and we're moving into potty training as Summer approaches. We bought these because they're much cheaper than the Imse Vimse and Bummis that we found at the cloth diaper retailers. While I can't directly compare, I can say that I am very happy with the Gerber training pants. Be sure to wash them before use - they're almost slippery when new and absorb NOTHING. After a single washing, they were a lot softer and held a good amount of *ahem* fluid. The downside is that because they are snug, if your kiddo poops, when you pull them down, you can drag poop down his or her legs. The good thing about them being snug is that the poop doesn't just fall out into their car seat, stroller, or pants! The legs are pretty trim. We have a semi-chunky toddler and they're snug, but soft enough not to bother her or cut into her legs like some of the plastic pants we've seen. Overall, I am very happy with these! I am giving 4 out of 5 stars for the mess factor. I am going to cut down the sides, serge the seams and add snaps to the sides so I can unsnap them when there are messes to be cleaned!

    Color Name: White
These are the BEST for potty training because they absorb some of the accident and also allow the child to feel that they are wet, unlike pull-ups or diapers that keep them feeling compfortable and dry. They are also all cotton so they allow the skin to breath createing less irritation than with vinyl covers. I only wish they would come in larger sizes.

I bought these for my 17 month old because we've been practicing EC and I want him to be aware of his pee-pee. I LOVE how the underpants look, so cute, and super soft and comfy.
Please note though, that they really don't absorb very much pee, and there will be a lot of mopping up to do. Again, for EC I think its helpful, because he definitely knows that he has peed, and will tell me, while with the super absorbent types he just keeps on going.
So I give 5 stars for cute and comfiness, and maybe 1 1/2 for absorbancy!

Got these based on reviews. Wasn't disappointed - they work great - and they look so cute on my son's little tushy :) The only negative is that leg openings on the 2T size are an inch or so too big (my son will be 2 next month) so, sometimes the pee falls out through the gap. But I can't fault the pant for that as my son is on the lean side (definitely not a porky kid). I like that these are soft cotton and wash well. And, as another reviewer wrote - they can be used as underwear until they grow out of them - so you get your money's worth. Always a plus :) We have used these for over a month and after the first week he was already half-way potty trained (I say half-way because he pees in the potty, but won't poop) - I really think these helped him make the connection because he feels the wetness. We use Pampers Easy Ups for naptime and Overnight - that way he still feels like he's wearing "big boy" underwear instead of a diaper :)

I have barely used these yet, so I can't speak to their effectiveness - I'm giving them 4 stars just because that seems to fit others. I'll update this once I am able to test them out some more.

But I just picked up a 3-pack of these at Walmart for $7.50 (they're not plain white though - they're boys colors - blues). So unless you're looking for plain white I'm not sure why these are "hard to find in retail stores" as the description states...they aren't - they're right next to the toddler underwear...for 1/2 the price than what these are.

These are great underwear for a child is who mostly trained but has an occasional small accident or still has trouble getting all the way to the potty before releasing. I would certainly not use these for a child who is having bowel movements or completely releasing his bladder into his underwear- these are not meant to be substitutes for cloth diapers. I have been using them for my 2 year and 9 month son for his transition into preschool (new potty, new people, stress!) and they are amazing. They soak up just enough to avoid a completely soaked child but still allow the child to feel that he has wet himself. If the child has a complete bladder release, urine WILL soak through to their other clothes. My son is slender, but of average height and at 32lbs the size 3t fit him perfectly. The legs holes are designed to be a little roomier, but there is no gapping even on a slender child. I can see him wearing these for a few more months- which will be more than enough time for him to complete training.
The texture of these is fantastic for a sensitive skinned child. My son has mild autism with severe textural problems, and the soft cotton of these does not bother him at all. The more expensive brands bothered him texturally, (Those "more absorbent" ones people rave over.) So these have just been wonderful.
