5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice for the price!
Leatherman quality without the price. Absolutely amazing all that's included at such a low price! (2 pliers, 2 holsters, flashlight, LED heads, batteries and a nice case)

3.0 out of 5 stars Bought it for the flashlight, but the tools aren't bad.
I bought my kit at Costco, but Amazon's price is competitive.

The "Foreman" flashlight is pretty sturdy (with one exception). It uses two AAA batteries; the light switch is at the clip end, and can be used with an intermittent switch in the battery cap, or the cap can be turned in further to keep the light on. It has four LED "color heads" (red, green, blue,...

It has four LED "color heads" (red, green, blue, white), which screw into the flashlight body. Each LED is color coded. I bought it for the red LED for occasional stargazing (red doesn't destroy night vision). TAKE CARE when switching the LED heads or changing batteries, as the threads on the flashlight are plastic and are delicate looking. There's a holster that holds the light and the extra LED color heads.

In another review of this light, someone observed that "Foreman" is a good name for this light, as it seems designed to be an inspection light. That's also why most of this light is plastic: it can be use around electrical and electronic equipment. Only the pocket clip is metal.

The larger pliers has locks for the blades and scissors, and comes with a holster. The small pliers isn't quite as sturdy, but would be a good thing to put in a briefcase or to take along hiking, as it weighs maybe 2-3 ounces.

The latching case everything comes in is made of aluminum and plastic, and looks nifty. It could be used to hold parts or small items other than the tools. I'm not sure how sturdy it will be over the long term.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend this item, April 15, 2010
This review is from: Gerber Multi-Pliers multitool type pocket knife & LED Flashlight Set (Misc.)
I bought this item at [...] for about $[...] a long time ago, but I don't expect to ever see it priced that low again.

I lost the keychain multitool at SXSW this year, and I'm considering buying the entire package again just for that on item.

The multitools in this set have a great weight and feel and balance to them. Just holding and looking at them, you really feel like you're getting your money's worth.

I use the LED flashlight on a daily basis. It has great intensity, and I wouldn't mind having a spare. The batteries in it last an insanely long time. I've only ever changed them out maybe once or twice, and it goes through constant use for over a year now.

Only problem I've ever had is with the flashlight. The rubber skin grip on the outside of the flashlight tends to slip a little once in a while, I think I may have gotten some grease or something underneath it somehow. I can fix this problem by pulling the skin back and cleaning the oily residue, then it seems to not slip as much.

Otherwise, I highly recommend this.
