wonderful. a few drags make a knife very razorlike. it has a fine and a course side and is very light. also a loop for a lanyard or a string. small, compact, and foolproof. a good buy.

You get what you pay for folks. If you sat down and repeated the sharpening motion for three hours, you might start to notice a difference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quick Sharpener, November 21, 2011

This review is from: Pocket Sharpener (Misc.)
I was a skeptic when I bought this, but for 5 bucks it was worth a shot. It quickly put a very sharp edge on my Gerber and Swiss Army knives. My very dull traveling cheap kitchen knives took a couple of minutes for a very sharp edge. Not close shave razor sharp, but cut hair sharp.

Seriously, who shaves with a knife anyway? I need my knives chef sharp and this little tool does it quick.

I also have DMT fine diamond blocks and a folding sharpener which are very good but require a little more patience and don't fit in your pocket.

I am buying several of these for stocking stuffers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and carry knife sharpener., December 7, 2010
This is the one I give my wife to use to touch up her kitchen knives. It is so easy to use and yet it get the knives very sharp and the knife edges are sharpened at a good angle for everyday use.

I should be in every tackle box or your pocket when going hunting. It really works extremely well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be careful, January 7, 2012

Excellent blade sharpener and honer. Just be careful. It's not this product that's sharp, it's the knife you're honing. I managed to cut myself three separate times. I guess that's just testament to how good this sharpener is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Sharpener, August 5, 2011
I think this sharpener works great, especially for kind of last minute "survival" situations. I would not use it for expensive blades as it does leave some marks, and that is why I said its best for last minute sharpenings when needed. Still a great sharpener for a great price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it, June 2, 2010

I'm looking for a good pocket sharpener. This isn't it, since it pretty much has no effect on the edge of any knife I tried with it. I have a mini ceramic stick type that works better, but it isn't my ideal, either.

3.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy!, March 14, 2011

I got this to put in my bag but the first time i used it, I found that the mouth is not wide enough to my fit my 1/4 inch thick tactical knife. If you buy this, you might regret it. It wont even get your blade sharp!
