Comparison with regular Gerber premiums,
By
This review is from: Gerber Brand 6 Pack Prefold Birdseye Organic Diaper, White (Baby Product)
I did a side by side comparison of these Gerber organic diapers and the Gerber premium prefold cloth diapers which are also quite popular by purchasing a 6-pack of each, for the same price.
I washed them all in a regular load of whites with regular detergent and no fabric softener, and dried them on medium. These came out the winner in my book, mostly because even without the assistance of fabric softener, there came out far softer than the premium prefolds. After being dried, they took on a bubbly, muslin-like appearance, where the premiums were crisp, solid and flat. Its probably a matter of preference what you like and what you intend to use these multi-purpose cloths for. On the downside, these shrunk slightly more than the other Gerbers, and are now an inch smaller on each side. They were still plenty large enough to get the job done and are no means as small as a washcloth, etc. To me, if you love instant softness and a looser weave, get these. If you like sturdy, high thread count and a thick uniform cloth, get the Gerber premium prefolds.

Not good in comparison with indian prefold diapers from places like Green Mountain, Little Lions, etc. These will barely hold a few ounces of liquid without leaking. I bought two packs and lost the reciept, so I guess I'll just use them as rags, or extra wipes when I run low. I won't be using them as diapers, though.

Want to cloth diaper? Don't buy these.,

Diapers like these are the reason why so many parents initially try cloth diapering and then quickly switch back to disposables. They are very thin, and not nearly absorbent enough to hold even one pee, especially if you have a heavy wetter. They're a great size for burp cloths, though. I actually bought them to use as cleaning cloths.

This product makes a wonderful burp cloth. The rectangular shape is the perfect size vs. other long and skinny burp cloths. It absorbs spit-up very well. The material is soft and holds up well after machine washing although it puckers (it's no longer smooth). I recommend you keep 1-2 dozen on hand so you don't have to do laundry every other day!

Absolute BEST burp cloth!!,

We have at least 6 different types of burp cloths. These are by far the best!
Don't bother buying any other brand. These are super soft and very absorbent. They are not bulky and hold up well with daily washes. My baby smiles when I wipe his mouth with these! Thank goodness, because he is a "spitter."

Nice Rag, Awful Diaper, and more Expensive than High-Quality Organic Cloth,
By
This review is from: Gerber Brand 6 Pack Prefold Birdseye Organic Diaper, White (Baby Product)
Some of these were given to me at our baby shower, and I'm glad I'd already researched and purchased the cloth diapers we intended to use as diapers.
I bought our actual diapers online, and they are thick, soft, cut straight, hemmed well, and of a good size. That brand of organic was also much cheaper than these. In comparison these diapers are thin, rough, badly hemmed, small, and cut crooked (which makes folding harder and contributes to them getting misshapen in the wash). Crazy, also, that they cost more than competing organics of better quality.

I have been using these for 5 months now with my new son. They have been fine for us. I change him frequently, so I haven't encountered any of the problems many of these reviews speak of. The angel wing fold is our winner with pins and a Thirsties Duo Wrap. I am going to try some other options as he outgrows these, but they have held up great and they are plenty absorbant. At night, I just add one folded in thirds as a doubler with a fleece liner. I recommend these!

I swear we go through 6-10 of these a day cleaning up spit up, drool and other baby messes. They work great, they're absorbent and they wash well. Nothing to complain about here. Not sure if the 'organic' bit makes any difference by the time they are machine processed into a cloth, but it makes me feel better.

Low Tech/Questionable Quality Diaper,

The "natural" color version of these diapers shed terribly after the first wash. The pills just don't seem to go away even after repeated washes. I don't even want to use them as burp cloths.

I actually have the natural ones, and not the white. These absorb spit-up amazingly well, which means more use out of each one as a burp cloth. And the spit-up hardly shows. So soft and fluffy -- makes for a nice fabric for my baby's cheek when he's getting burped.
