5.0 out of 5 stars Super fast Super knife
I bought this knife for my husband who has carried the original Superknife since they first came out. He loves it!! The quick change blade is awesome! He works where he is constantly cutting boxes or straps off of something so it gets a lot of use and is always tinkering in the garage at night and again the knife never leaves his side. We were amazed at the price! Paid...

It would be the perfect knife if the blade didn't FALL OUT! The knife is a great tool in every other aspect. It is very light and the textured grip prevents the knife from sliding in your hand when wearing work gloves. The lock is secure and easy to use and the knife opens easily and smoothly with one hand. The blade guard is smooth so it doesn't get hung up on whatever...

He works where he is constantly cutting boxes or straps off of something so it gets a lot of use and is always tinkering in the garage at night and again the knife never leaves his side. We were amazed at the price! Paid over $30 for the original Superknife years ago. This was a steal!! And in stock with Amazon (sold out many other websites) and as always, free shipping and no tax. You just can't beat Amazon!!

The largest improvement in this design is the surface of the handle where it meets the clip. The rough diamond texture keeps it from slipping out of your pocket like the previous SK2 design did.

The blade is a little loose but it isn't going anywhere. Even if you pull on it, the blade wiggles a little but will not come out of body.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best utility knives EVER, May 5, 2008
This review is from: Gerber Superknife 22-00532 SK Edge Aluminum Folding Utility Knife, Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
Seriously, the Superknife is the best utility knife ever made. The blade changes easily. The knife opens easily with one hand. It is a well made tool. Very solid.

However, they are hard to find. If you see one, buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars multi-functional, June 26, 2011

A friend gave me my first one of these. He used it to open boxes all day. I love using it to build my architecture models. The knife has a steady blade great for cutting foam core, plastic, cardboard, and thin wood peices with no wobble. The common blades are dirt cheap, the curve in the handle makes a huge difference when cutting something detailed and you don't wan't to scrape your knuckles. Plus its the perfect size for carrying in a pocket-not bulky or long. I don't know why all the other brands make such awkward handles. And lastly, my fave feature is the super easy blade replacement. With one easy move of my thumb I've got the blade out and a new one is snapped in place in a second. Less than 5 seconds total and NO TOOLS REQUIRED. I have two of these--one for home and one for work.

This knife essentially works as advertised. I have found that the blade is very easy to change and is held securely. The quality of the tool is good. No complaints at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy razor knife, August 15, 2010
I have used this knife for years cutting everything from sheetrock to corner bead. Easy one handed opening and stays locked when open. I am a painter/sheetrock worker by trade and have put it through the paces. Good little tool.

The blade guard is smooth so it doesn't get hung up on whatever you may be cutting through.

The blade is very easy to change and that is where the problem begins. To change the blade you simply push down on the thumb stud and the blade slides out. The problem is when you push down on the thumb stud when cutting something; the blade falls out. On other knives the thumb stud is there simply to give your thumb someplace to go when you are cutting. On several occasions the blade has even flown out while flipping the knife open. And my thumb was nowhere near the stud... but other than that, a great knife.
