Always a classic! Don't buy a single pullup!,
By Seattle Mama "Seattle Mama" (Seattle) - See all my reviews

These are wonderful! My 18 month old daughter trained in a week with these (though it was a messy week). Just like the other reviews say, they can hold a little accident but don't function like a diaper which is exactly what you need when training. My daughter caught on almost immediately that the process for relieving herself had changed. Pullups only cause confusion (you CAN go in your pants, but please DON'T?). These wear well and the sizes are true. Also, they're thicker than regular underwear which is nice for protecting cold butts in winter :) If the cost seems high, compare the cost of 18-20 pair of these to what you'll spend on pullups for 6 months to a year, because that's the alternative. One last thing, we did order some from Luvable Friends and liked them OK, but the leg holes were too big. These have smaller leg holes that prevent the occasional solid accident from rolling down the leg and onto the floor, which really happened with the other brand. Go Gerber!

Great pants!,

We bought these, Luvable Friends, and Potty Patty training pants. These were our favorite of the three because they are not too thick (Potty Patty are a bit thick) and are more cottony and stretchy than Luvable Friends (Luvable friends tend to run a little small in size, I think). If I could start over, I would just get these ones for our 2-year-old.

A great training pant,

My son loves the pics on his new "big boy underware" and couldn't wait to try them out. They fit him really well and prevent leeks on small accidents. They are not a diaper, so we do have a few large accidents, but this, in turn, has helped with the training process. We've been wearing these for a week now, and are already accident free! I say skip the pull-ups and go straight to these trainnig pants!

Best Toddler Girl Underwear Ever Made,
This review is from: Gerber Training Pants (6-pairs) (Health and Beauty)
I bought these panties because I was disgusted with what was available to my already-potty-trained 3-year old daughter in the way of toddler panties. I could not find a single pair of underwear that did not have either:a) logos, brands or cartoon characters prominently displayed (why does my toddler need Dora on her bum?), or b) a stiff, uncomfortable tag or stiff, uncomfortable stitching and seams in sensitive areas, or c) the bikini style of panty, which often did not even cover her little bum crack when she bent over, poor thing! Why must my choices for my toddler girl's underwear be limited to advertisements, complete lack of comfort, or a style that is absolutely inappropriate for her age? So when I saw these Gerber Training Pants I knew they would fit the bill, and they have! She loves them and chooses them over the other panties that my in-laws bought for her. She calls these her "soft" panties. She doesn't think they are "baby" panties at all, and some of her little girlfriends now want panties like she has! The best part is that she now puts the other panties on her stuffed animals and dolls! As long as she fits into the 3Ts (she's still in 2Ts) she will continue to wear these panties. Little girls grow up too quickly as it is. Whether these panties are good for "training" or not, I cannot say, but as undies they are the very best.

Too thin to hold an entire accident, but great for training the potty sensation,

Pros:- Very soft. - Relatively thin (compared to other training pants) and therefore easy to wash + dry. - Thin enough that urine will likely drip down in case of a real accident...I count this as a PRO because it forces my 1.5 year old to learn the sensation. After missing several times in a day, I noticed she started saying "potty" even when she's back in her diaper. Cons: - Too thin to hold a real accident. Therefore in our case it's home use only. Overall, I recommend these training pants for the exact purpose of training. Don't rely on these to hold an entire accident. In our case, it may have worked just the same if we go right straight to panties instead of using these training pants. Tips on containing mess when going out: Once my daughter is *almost* potty-trained, we would let her wear these inside, and then add diaper outside when we go out--this way even if she misses the diaper would contain the mess, but she would still feel the pee. We won't use the diaper at home (because the purpose is to let her feel the sensation when she misses) but i'm very careful to stay in the tile/wood floor area only.

Soft, easy to pull up, enough like "real" underpants,
By Angie (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gerber Training Pants (6-pairs), 18 Months, Boy's Colors, - Fits 24-28 lbs. (Health and Beauty)
I bought a lot of these and I am glad I did. My daughter has been trained for about 2 months and we used these right from the start...they absorb just enough for a little tiny accident but are similar enough to regular underwear that we use them as such. They are not bulky, they are breathable, and they are very soft and good quality. My daughter can pull these up a lot easier than her "big girl" underpants due to the wider elastic at the waist. This elastic is also softer around the waist and legs. They look adorable, kind of like the trendy "boy shorts" and are inexpensive enough to get many pairs. Skip pullups or other trainers and go straight to these so your little one can quickly learn to use the potty!

Great first pair of underwear,

These are great underwear for a beginner. They are NOT diapers. But they do contain a small mess, so you won't have to clean your carpet with every accident. You will have to change their clothes. Use when your child is really ready for the potty. They are soft fit well. These are better than pull ups when your child is ready because many children think nothing of going in a pullup, which feels like a diaper.
