5.0 out of 5 stars Sizing chart
18 mo = 24-28 lbs or 30-32 in; 2T = 28-32 lbs or 32-34 in; 3T = 32-35 lbs or 34-38 in. Our daughter is 26 lb, 35 in and she fits in the 18 mo size just fine. Her derriere would be described as petite though since she is slender. Btw, did I mention that both mom and daughter love these panties?

Great idea - these panties work much better than pull-up diapers, which my toddler treated as just diapers, as some other reviewers noted. The problem though that these size 2T panties fit very tight on my skinny 2 year old daughter... I should have bought 3T maybe? I can't imagine a chunkier kid using these. My girl wears regular panties size 2T and those are not as...

4.0 out of 5 stars Stick with the Basics in Potty-Training, November 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I started babysitting before the invention of Pull-ups. Still was after their invention, and guess what? It added about 6 mos to potty-training time (my anecdotal evidence, no official studies were done) because IT'S STILL A DIAPER--they don't feel wet.

But good, old-fashioned cotton Gerber training pants? They absorb just enough to prevent massive puddles while still letting your child know they've had an accident. And they last well beyond the few weeks of actual potty-training. In fact, my older son's skin was so sensitive, he preferred them to "real" underwear for over a year, at which point they did start unravelling (hence the missing 5th star). Now my 5th percentile, very slender 2-year-old has started the potty-training gauntlet and these 18mos pants fit him perfectly.

I've never seen anything smaller than 2T on store shelves and even that's hard to find, so getting these 18mos online was a godsend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice training pants, October 24, 2008
I purchased these for my very skinny, just-turned 3 year old. They fit fairly well - still a little roomy, but what isn't on him (he's about 25 pounds). They are well-made and easy to get on and off. Very soft. Enough padding down the middle to stop small leaks, but certainly not enough to soak up a full bladder of tinkle, which is the point. I want him to feel the wet. He's had two full-scale accidents in these, but that's it. He knows he doesn't like that feel, so now he tells me when he needs to use the potty. I would definitely recommend cotton training pants over those paper diaper pull-up things. FYI, I also purchased a set of training pants from "Luvable Friends," as they had good reviews, but went back to the Gerbers. The others are very baggy and not well-constructed. You can hardly tell the front from the back in them, which is a bummer since I had to cut out the super-stiff tags in them, so now I can't hardly tell whether I am putting them on correctly.

5.0 out of 5 stars here to order seconds, May 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A necessity for potty training. We use disposable pull-up diapers when we really need insurance, but my daughter just considers them to be diapers and will use them as such.

We had a pair of these Gerber training underwear FULL of #2 this morning and it held it all in until we could get to the bathroom for cleanup. She wet a pair yesterday and it was visibly soaked but didn't drip. Before yesterday she was using standard big girl undies and we needed a bit more protection, found it in these. I only wish for a slightly bigger leg opening. Granted, the tight legs prevent leaking, but my 2 year old has some baby curves--a big belly and chunky thighs. If she gets any wider I will cut the legs slightly like others have mentioned, but, for now, she just wears them like a "boy-short" style underwear and it works.

The 2010 design, which doesn't show a picture on the order link, is one white, one pink, and on small pastel print with butterflies.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have When Potty Training, August 12, 2008

This review is from: Gerber Training Pant (In Vinyl Bag), 3 Pack (Baby Product)
I had a hard time finding these training pants in stores, so I was happy when I found them on Amazon.com. They have been great for potty training our 18 month old daughter. They are absorbent and have helped cut down on the mess from accidents. I purchased the 3-pack but if I could do it over, I'd get the 6-pack because I'm washing the same 3 pair over and over. Overall very pleased with the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are wonderful!, June 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got these training pants for my 21 month old daughter who is almost potty trained. She still wears a diaper for naps and night time, and when we go out but at home, these are all she wears. They're super soft, not very thick in the center which you want in training pants and they are absorbent enough to handle a small accident. These are not supposed to contain a full pee so don't buy them if you're expecting that. They're training pants, they're not supposed to feel like a diaper. These are great! The 18 month size fits my almost 22 month old 25lb daughter perfectly. She has chubby thighs but the legs stretch enough. She still has a little room to grow too! I'm glad I didn't go with more expensive training pants, These are perfect and you can't beat the price!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great starter underwear, February 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you are looking into a transitional underwear that holds a leak but still feels like "big kid" underwear these are great. They are soft and the middle section is double lined to catch those little leaks while learning to train. They come just like the picture, one pink/white/flowers and do not have elastic so they do not bother my daughter and fit snug to the body. I bought these when she was 2 1/2 and was afraid they would be too small as I have an above average sized daughter who turned 3 this week Feb 1st,2010..but don't ask me how but they fit her fine. She wears a 4t/5t in regular clothes (weights 37 pounds and measures 40 inches) so I took a chance thinking I might be able to stretch them out in the wash, but they fit great (she is thin and has no booty) so this might be why. Our daughter is now almost 100% potty trained and she wears these every day and I love that they don't give her wedgies, are soft and no elastic to bother her. Will continue to buy until she outgrows them or I can find an elastic free/cartoon free underwear her size. I gave these 4 stars because as a mother to a taller/heavier child it annoys me that the largest size is 3t when some children are naturally larger, mine just lucked out they fit her.

My daughter started potty training at 15mos old. She is a smaller child and even though the training pants were a bit lose on her they still worked great! They allowed her to really feel accidents and learn the difference between wet and dry. I've been using them for about 2 months now and haven't found anything wrong with them. I love them and recommend them to anyone potty training.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gerber training pants, November 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It was confusing trying to order these pants. The title of the item on Amazon was labeled "Gerber Brand Boy's Training PANT". So, the customer service rep at Amazon and I could not determine for sure if only one pant was to come in the mail or 3, as shown in the photo. I just decided to order them and send them back if only one showed up. Fortunately, they did come in a 3 pack, which was a good value as they were much more expensive in the stores. Also, I looked everywhere locally for the smaller 18mo size and they didn't carry them, so this was the best place I found to order them. Apparently, people don't potty train their 1 1/2 year olds often enough :) Overall, good product for the money. They are a good size for the littler guys and just absorbent enough to stop a big mess but still make it uncomfortable to "sit in".
