The best book ever written about gerbils, "Gerbils: The Complete Guide to Gerbil Care" contains amazingly accurate information about gerbil care, breeding and health issues - so accurate that I would even recommend taking this book to your vet with you to help them better diagnose your gerbils' ailments. There is a chapter on fun things to do with your gerbils, including gerbil art projects and training gerbils, as well as sections on housing, feeding, taming, breeding, showing gerbils and coping with gerbil loss. Just about every aspect of owning gerbils is covered in this wonderfully written book, as told from the perspective of one of the top gerbil breeders in the US. Despite her expertise and attention to factual detail, Donna Anastasi's book is concise and fun to read, enhanced with beautiful photographs taken by Ellen Bellini. I highly recommend this book, having read others that are not quite up to par or even give incorrect information. This book tells it as it is: the glorious truth about owning gerbils from beginning to end of their precious little lives. Enjoy!

If you are looking for the best gerbil care book, look no further.
This is the ultimate gerbil care book. It is very easy to read, full of reliable information and great pictures. The best of all, throughout the book you feel Donna's love for gerbils. I strongly recommend this book for all gerbil lovers young and old.

I have owned Hamsters for six years straight, and I love them and all rodents in general. I also adore reading. So naturally, I've read almost every rodent book out there. Most of them are satisfactory, but a little outdated. I may be getting Gerbils, so, seeing all of the good reviews fellow Amazonians gave this book, I decided to purchase it. That was a good desicion! This book is easy-to-read, without being simple. It presents everything you need to know about gerbils(in a professional manner that doesn't feel like the author is talking down to you), and more! It includes chapters about showing, breeding, gerbil crafts and playing with your gerbils(and that's just the extras! I have personally emailed the person who wrote this book. She is a judge for the Gerbil Association(I think), a breeder and gerbil exhibitor. Her website is [...] She is located in New Hampshire. Take it from the person who has been searching for the perfect gerbil book for years(and has finally found it)...buy this!

The other reviewers are right--Donna Anastasi knows gerbils! This delightful book is so much fun to read (again and again) that it would potentially convince anyone that gerbils are the pets for them. Best of all, it's 176 pages, so it's packed full of information--from tips to games. As a result of reading this book I became a fan not only of gerbils, but also of Ms. Anastasi (you will, too!), whose love for these furry little rodents is evident throughout the work. Imagine my delight when I adopted a pair and found out they're great-granddaughters of her gerbils!

If you only get one gerbil care book--make this one it.

My 8 year old has been wanting gerbils for months. We told him he had to read and be able to talk to us about them and their care. He (and the rest of the family) have now read several books. This was by far the best. My son made the decisions about cages, types, sex etc on his own after reading this book. He could discuss care issues and that he was not ready for breeding, wanted 2 females and what he would have to do to care for them.

In comparison to other books, this has more useful information, is more complete, better photos and after three days with the gerbils has already answered multiple questions.

If you can only get one book then this should be it.

I purchased this very informative gerbil book about a month ago, and haven't put it down since! I use the book as a reference guide, especially now that I'm breeding gerbils for the first time. The pictures in the book alone are worth buying the book for! I have learned so much, people think I'm an expert! I highly recommend this book for first time and experienced gerbil owners.

This is THE book on Gerbil care. It contains all the correct information on the care of gerbils. I even learned new stuff in the book. Pictures are excellent. This author really knows her stuff and really cares about gerbils.

This is ,without a doubt, the best book ever written on gerbils, not only featuring a complete, accurate guide on gerbil's care and incredible photos (if you have a gerbil , you'll know how difficult is to take good pictures of them, they never stay still!) but also fun, easy to read info , like how to teach them to perform some tricks, what to do and what not to do,etc, all beautifully written , for ALL ages to understand.
As a gerbil owner and breeder, I highly recommend this book, , for everybody. Gerbil owners-to-be should buy the book before getting their gerbils, and it should be reading material in every classroom having gerbils as pets.

What a WONDERFUL book! It is, indeed, as the title says, "Gerbils, the Complete Guide to Gerbil Care". Everything you need and want to know about geribls is in this book! It is wonderful for both the pet owner (whatever age) and the owner who wants to breed gerbils. All the information is accurate (alas, not the case in many gerbil care books). Written in a friendly, easy to read, very accessable manner, this is THE definitive book on gerbils and their care! I've owned gerbils for MANY years, and read many books on gerbils. This is the best!
The photographs by Ellen Bellini are fantastic. The gerbils are adorable, and seeing them would make anyone want to own some, I would think!

This is by far the greatest book I have read about animal care so far! SO many books in the past give outdated bad information and finally here is one I can rely on. I take in unwanted and abused animals (gerbils, hamsters, Guinea pigs and rabbits) and if the other authors in this pet care series are half as knowledgeable about those critters as Mrs. Anastasi is about gerbils I think I will be picking up a few more books!
