A 'must have' book for all parents, November 30, 2007
This review is from: Germ Proof Your Kids: the Complete Guide to Protecting (without Overprotecting) Your Family from Infections (Paperback)
GERM PROOF YOUR KIDS tackles all the tough questions about kids' infections. Vaccine safety, antibiotic abuse, antibacterial soaps, miracle cures for the common cold, health foods, homeopathy, how many infections should make me worry about my kids' immunity, and can my kids play soccer when they're sick are just a few. There are almost 400 pages of guidance for every conceivable germ question that a parent may have. I think this is the most valuable book on my shelf right now.

Grandma knew it all along, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Germ Proof Your Kids: the Complete Guide to Protecting (without Overprotecting) Your Family from Infections (Paperback)
I'm the grandmother of six. Just as the newspapers have become full of stories about "Superbugs", this wonderful book hit the shelves and answered all of my questions. Dr. Rotbart's writing is funny and wise. I love the way he puts the advice he got from his mom about germ defense (the same advice I gave to my kids) to scientific scrutiny - and guess what?! Mom and Grandma turn out to be pretty smart after all. I've sent the book to my adult kids to help them raise my grandkids (and to show them how brilliant I was as a mom!).

Keeping kids healthy and away from bad germs, December 4, 2007
This review is from: Germ Proof Your Kids: the Complete Guide to Protecting (without Overprotecting) Your Family from Infections (Paperback)
So much is written about the "hygiene hypothesis" and whether we are making our kids sicker by making their environments too sterile. "Germ Proof Your Kids" reviews all the evidence and finally gives parents a way to evaluate the issue for themselves and cut through the hype.
