This review is from: RC German Tiger Tank R/C WWII Battle Panzer Kampfwagen III with Electric Airsoft Gun (Toy)
This particuliar RC model tank is in a word boring!. Wait one moment, please read on. However, it is well made and it works very well right out of the box. I have purchased both the Tiger Tank and this Panzer III. I prefer the tiger on size, but the little Panzer III wins on all other levels. Again, this is right out of the box, charge the battery and go " tanking ". I do think that it is well made and with even a modest amount of work, the Panzer III can be detailed a whole lot more. It actually
fires it's rounds fairly accurate and the suspension system works very well. By now, anyone who has purchased one or the other of these RC tanks knows that they are so basic in construction. However, they are well made for the most part. Many hobby type upgrades are available from both the hobby stores and the manufacturer ( Hen Long ). I actually run my Panzer III very hard. I run it through water, mud, dirt and what ever else I can find too work this little tank very hard. So far, I give it a near perfect score on being capable of sustaining regular punishment. It should be noted that my Tiger tank threw a track with in minutes of the same type of punishment. However, this is a common problem not limited too just the RC tanks. Real Tiger tanks would throw tracks quit often if not under the care of a good driver. The Panzer III will not throw a track no matter how you push it!. That means more fun and less fixing. So, although I stated this tank is " boring ", it is with out a doubt a good buy and well worth the money. Further, It is a good way to get basic tanking skills with what I would consider a semi hobby grade RC tank. Why spend a lot of money on a RC tank which when done ( if you build it yourself ), when you can spend a fraction of the money on a great starter tank. Again, I am not downing hobby grade tanks. They are in two words " awesome and expensive ". I would strongly recommend this little panzer for both beginner and expert. It really is not that boring!!!. Signed, " Tanks for the memories ". I would also like to mention the fact that this particular tank is not, I say again, not a Tiger I tank!. It is, however, a well done representation of the PanzerKampWagon III. This was the tank which was produced on a fairly large scale too take on the western front!!!.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

My son is having a lot of fun with it. It shoots projectiles. What more do I have to say. This thing has "guy" fun written all over it. It's best driven on a driveway as it picks up "stuff" in the tracks if grass is loose. We bought army men to shoot. Only complaint is it pulls a little to the left when you go straight so we have to make constant corrections. I wish there was a dwell on it to get it to drive straight.
I normally like to touch and feel things before I buy them but I have been happy with Amazon's prompt response and a decent product. I'm not an "anti-Walmart" person but their quality has hit rock bottom. I've been looking for other sources to buy things from. Amazon might be a new "store" for me.

I purchased this tank myself via Thinkgeek, and I must say so far it's fairly sweet.I wish it were easier to aim but it does fire fairly accurately and fairly hard. The LED headlights on the front are nice and bright and make it easy to navigate, even when it's not in sight, it also feels fairly satisfying to press the button and hear that engine roar to life, even if said engine is just a speaker inside the housing. On most TC tanks the tracks are just two strips of rubber, I was pleased to see that the tracks on this beast are made from linked pieces just like the tracks on a real tank, albeit from plastic, that plus the suspension makes it seem very realistic as it runs over terrain, be it the yard, your shoes, or from carpet to hard flooring. The smoking exhaust is also a nice touch that adds realism. Plus I had no idea that there was a button on the controller to make the hull mounted machine gun light up and make firing noises, which is a nice touch. I've yet to put on the spare accessories though. I also noticed that the speed of the tank can be varied. Move the stick just a little, and the tank moves at steady pace, tilt it all the way and the tank kicks into full speed and zooms off, same for turning, I think the turret is also effected the same way. On the note of movement the imitated recoil when you fire the gun, either really fire or just press the button, is a very nice touch Only two complaints I have is I really, REALLY wish I could drive the tank without the engine sound on, as it would be nice to run it quietly without the engine noises. I also wish that the turret could spin a full 360 without stopping, but I suppose with the antenna that isn't possible. Plus the imitated recoil, while a nice touch, just appears goofy when you fire to the side or behind. Overall I love it, and would like to get a metal track upgrade kit for it.
