This review is from: German Immigrants: 1820-1920 (Coming to America (Capstone)) (Library Binding)
This is a wonderful and insightful book with 32 pages of good solid information about German immigrants to America. Wonderful photos, color and b&w. In the back it has a timeline, a page of 'words to know', a section called 'learn more', a list of places to 'write and visit', some internet sites, and an index. If you are an adult doing family history, this is the know-it-all in a nutshell book; from life in the old country to Castle Garden to how the culture they brought has helped shaped America. Much more than a children's book, but highly recommended to children as well.
