About the Author

Melissa Sovey is the author of Doxie Moxie, ChiWOWhua, The Yorkie Diaries, Horse Wisdom, If I Had A Horse and various other titles including short stories featured in anthologies such as A Cup Of Comfort for Single Mothers.

More About the Author

Melissa Sovey has written gift books, short stories, and an award-winning coffee table book. She and her husband live in the north woods of Wisconsin where they enjoy year-round outdoor sports and the tranquility of nature. Melissa has lived in Chicago and Detroit... but her heart has always been in the country. (Even if there aren't any Starbucks. Or Whole Foods. Or trendy little shoe stores; which is fine because all you really need in the north woods are a pair of rubber boots, some furry mukluks and a cheap pair of flip flops for the six or so weeks you get to wear them).

Melissa is currently compiling material for a project based on her latest gift book, It's A Girl Thing: Random Thoughts on Surviving Womanhood. Please visit her website www.melissasovey.com and post a comment on one of her Random Thoughts or e-mail her at melissa@melissasovey.com with one of your own survival tactics! Your thoughts will be published with your permission.

BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN I WOULD BUY AGAIN FOR GERMAN SHEPHERD LOVERS. THE ONLY SURPRISE IS THAT THE BOOK IS SMALL. CHECK THE DIMENSIONS.

This was full of beautiful photos and little stories of all the virtues embodied by shepherds. If you love these dogs you'll love this book. This was a gift and the recipient was thrilled.

I was hoping for stories......there were just "sayings". They are lovely, but better suited for maybe a daily calendar, not a book.

This little book packs a huge punch. The pictures are beautiful and the messages on each page reminds us of some of the reasons we are dog owners. I purchased this to give as a gift but ended up keeping it - it sits on my desk and I find myself picking it up every time I need a little positive reinforcement.

As a lover of the breed, German shepherds are virtuous to the max. The majesty of the dog coupled with the nobleness of his/her heart make this a must for anyone who loves dogs, especially GSDs.
